if this is the best offense in baseball, watching the bad offensive teams must be unbearable. there are SEVEN teams with an OPS under .700. imagine sitting through that trash all season. an entire lineup of Craig counsells, all season long.

So we were one out from leaving this series either 7 or 9 games up on the DBacks but instead we'll be just 5 games up unless we come up with a 9th inning rally.  Don't be another 2023 please.

6 outs away from going 2-4 on a roadtrip where we outscored our opponents 39-19

Edit: Oh wait I didn't realize Zeferjahn was pitching, should've held back before I submitted this post

Ain’t that a kick in the nuts.  Sailing to a 2-1 series win decent road trip.  Instead limping away with a 2-4 trip wondering how the hell we can get this relief staff to hold leads.

5 games ahead of Arizona with 28 games to play.

This isn’t how making the playoffs work. There’s a reason going into today we had a 9% chance of winning the division and a 1% chance of missing the playoffs. There’s three wildcard spots, it’s not a two team race.

Arizona horsefeathers sucks. They aren't passing anybody

I agree with you. They have what appears to be an entire bullpen full of 100 MPH fireballers though.

We had these guys nailed down and just let them get up off the mat.

Some days I question my sanity being a Cubs fan.

wow, I guess I've been using that wrong for 30 years

I think you’re right. I’ve always thought of it as a day game when a team is leaving for a new city right after the game. I mean, Sunday actually qualifies as more of a getaway day than today because the Cubs played on Monday night but are off tomorrow.
