  1. It's Gasser--last time, his start was pretty solid compared to his other ones, so I would have faith. Buetane can only do so much before his old body aches. More seriously, though, I would be shocked if the Brewers did not win today--it seems improbable, but not impossible. They have to score the first run to be effective and gain momentum, though. Currently, I bet that Mitchell will do something awesome--his hard-hit percentage is up, and every advanced statistical indication shows that he's hot. What do you guys all think about, like, the Brewers winning the NLDS and advancing to the NLCS? What is worse: Dodgers or Brewers? (Maybe even the negotiations will be impacted by the winner of the WS... who knows... so maybe even Sox hate will be an ironic bite in the ass.)
  2. I usually don't peep out of lurking, but that balk call was horsefeathers.
  3. Context always matters. I'm hoping it's a coincidence but I'm also cautious.
  4. I still believe the Cubs win today. PCA will obviously carry the entire team but Suzuki has been doing well as well.
  5. I have actually not thought of that yet. That theory is possible because his slump was very unnatural. But at least PCA has returned to his prime state. He clearly doesn't "suck" anymore. On a more serious note, I have a lot of faith in Nico. At this point the Cubs are the most fluctuating yet fascinating team in baseball!
  6. I'm not Gen Alpha; I'm older!
  7. What a foolish name to call someone a "dude." I am not a "dude." I champion research, where I work. And I'm... a lady. But, regardless, who is this legend of which you speak? I do not see a "Cubs Dude" here. Or is this a phrase?
  8. Hello. I am Colgera, a Cubs-Brewers-Cardinals-Yankees fan but also a very deep thinker. I am into sabermetrics and advanced statistics, and I find it very interesting that I am a fan of two teams. I enjoy conversations with many people and enjoy myself understanding the world even more. I am an unofficial historian as well, with a lens on fiscal policy in the 20th century. I look forward to profound intellectual discussion and historical baseball chats! A bit more about me: I work in research and travel quite frequently. I find great experiences traveling.
  9. I think that he is quite idealistic in regards to that, but the situation can be quite interesting in the future. Do I think he will be signed? I'm not necessarily sure. But he has indicated that he does want to return to Arizona. All of this nuance. I think that he has to focus less on quantification and more on stability in the future, even if that means a slight reduction in AAV. Arizona is shifting from manic spending (the Cubs' dream) to a more restricted or conservative/Hoover-esque approach.
