Yeah giving up a double that bounced off the outside of 1st base on its 14th hop is just completely unacceptable.

I was sort of half watching expecting the Cubs to finish it off until I saw Palencia in the game and immediately got nervous. Nothing against Palencia, the Palencia of 2025 is going to be needed if we want this season to go anywhere and if you can’t put him in a 4 run game when can you put him in. But he always makes me a little nervous and a pitcher coming off an extended IL stint always makes me nervous too. Sure enough, gotta sweat this one out

Yeah I’m coming out of it thinking his control isn’t good at the moment, because rust and also a little bit because he has those patches, which contributed to throwing that nightmare pitch. But once that happened, you have to let him get back on the horse but I’m not going to judge the outputs too much because it’s clearly going to affect him.
