Ahmed I'm slightly surprised by because he honestly looked more promising to me in the preseason work than Roschon Johnson, and they really gave them both quite a lot of reps. I gotta assume they feel like they need Roschon on special teams because he really doesn't give you much as a running back.

Hyppolite still technically has a chance.  Because of weird rules, he's on the Bears IR.  He won't play this year but he's not done with the Bears yet.

I'll go out on a limb and say Zavion Thomas will not only stick but, will make an impact.

The difference is I believe Thomas was a Ben Johnson request. The others were all Poles, or at least not Johnson’s choice. Hypolite may have been a DA request. The others were with a completely different coaching staff. I trust Ben, so I am fine with Thomas.

Some NFL families are harder to keep track of than The Bloodline in WWE.

Kyler really screwing the team over with his "I don't want to play football" BS.  

Should have never signed that contract; it really has the Bears over a barrel.  Seems like we have to account for one guy every year lose the will to play football or even live, really.  I wonder what Nate Davis is up to today 🤔

Given the Bears continuing narrative of "soft tissue" injury I'm having a hard time giving Gordon the benefit of the doubt.  As you said, it's "I've lost the desire to play football", if that's the case, then horsefeathers retire. 

Bears don't gain anything by cutting him otherwise, he'd be an x-Bear, he probably already is an effective x-Bear.  Poles deserves a lot of horsefeathers, he's horsefeathered up way too much, I'll give him a pass on Gordon.  Don't think it's possible to glean he's a once I get paid I'm checking out dude or dud on draft day.

If Coby Bryant is on IR right now does that mean he is disqualified from playing at all this season? (I know there was only the faintest hope he could be back by the end of the season/playoffs anyway) 

Also - with Zavion Thomas they really do have an embarrassment of riches at WR. Odunze is healthy and looking great, we know Luther Burden is a stud, it sounds like Kalif Raymond has been a great fit for the room as a leader and mentor and I always liked Jahdae Walker who gave us a little something at the end of last year. If Zavion can be a guy (and it looks like he can be), they're more than set there.

This is the reason he was placed on the initial 53 man. If they put him on IR on Sunday, he would not have been eligible to come back this year. By waiting a day, they can designate him to return. They are allowed to designate 8 players to return from IR in a given season. If he progresses well, they can use one of the designations on him.

I beginning to wonder if we'll see, with the Bears, the football version of what's playing out with Cubs?  That is, an overwhelming offense coupled with a defense that couldn't stop a HS team.  All those talking regression with Caleb are in for a big surprise, I've no doubt he and the Bears offense are going nuclear on the NFL.  The only problem is the NFL may go nuclear on the Bears' defense.

I imagine with the more we understand about CTE, with the more players will get paid in college and earlier in their careers, we're going to see a lot more Drew Dalmans. 

Recent NYT report said that more than 1/4 of former players who died in a 20 year span had CTE, and the number is almost certainly much higher than that (because they couldn't test every former player's brain who died). Football exacts an incalculable toll on player's bodies and minds, and if you end up getting a generational payday (like Kyler's 40 million extension) it can be very hard to justify continuing to ruin your body. 

I don't love it, as a fan, but also, as a human being, it makes a ton of sense.
