Cubs now 30-23 (.566) at home and 32-25 (.561) on the road.  Don't worry im not going to make this a thing, I just can't help but feel like we seem to be playing better on the road the last couple months.

Yeah, I feel the same way, so I just checked.  The Cubs have 121 (Home) and 102 (Away) wRC+.

Nitpicking here - love that they are getting Ramirez more playing time, I don't love that it's coming at the expense of Seiya. He DH'd yesterday, and it's a crosswind blowing out to left/knocking down balls to right hurting lefties (Conforto).

They've been giving everyone a day off over the last week or so.  Probably good to keep them fresh in the warm weather.

Pete and Busch haven't had any day off.  Pete is probably next, but we have no backup for Busch.

If you want the best arbitrary start point, since May 18 they are 12-18 at home.

You know me so well 🙂

Actually I was thinking about doing the math but I knew that I would be pulling from the stretch where the Cubs sucked everywhere thus skewing the numbers.  They've been slightly above .500 at home since that stretch I believe.

Can Kelley play 1st? Unless hes traded.

Kelly, Amaya, even Happ have played 1B before. I think they recently stuck Ramirez there for an inning as well.

I don't think Craig would trust any of them to play a full, meaningful game there though.

Maybe getting a RH utility bat that can play first and outfield wouldn't be a bad thing to do.

Ramirez is young and unproven defensively, but I would think he could handle first base easily?

We'd signed Tyler Austin in the offseason to be that guy. They said he'd be out "months" after the knee procedure in spring training, but I haven't heard anything about a rehab assignment or timeline since then. At this point I'm doubtful he ever takes a plate appearance for us.

But there is still Jonathon Long and BJ Murray in AAA. Both are reasonable bench options to come up as part of the roster shuffle when we start making other moves.

Kelly, Amaya, Mo and Shaw played 1B early in the season.  And, they were pretty bad.  We had Tyler Austin as a RHH backup 1B, but he injured, when the ST started.  I don't even know what's going on with him, but most likely, we'll never see him.

Yeah, this probably makes the most sense. No need to waste a resource to trade for a guy who's barely gonna play. I'm sure Pedro could figure out 1B but I would also be shocked if he's in the Cubs org on Monday

Is something wrong with Skenes?  Against Reds today, he gave up 5 ER's (7 hits and 4 walks) in 4 innings.  His ERA is now 3.90.  I didn't watch the game, so I don't know what's going on.

Hunter Greene isn't as bad, but he has given up 3 runs in 4 innings, and I think he'll pitch the next inning.  Looks like Greene was good only against the Cubs, since he came back.😅

I just read up something on Austin that it basically too late for him this season to be counted on. I've been talking up Long and Murray to come up and be that guy for awhile but it seems like the Cubs dont want to make that move with them.

I am still can’t believe what has happened to Busch . He simply can’t pull the ball in the air  Seems like he goes out there looking to slap the ball the other way  love the OBP , but we need power from him
