anybody ever root for the team on this board? just curious.  Seems like a complaint board from first impression.   Hey, whatever, just surprised.

Many of us are way too serious about our team, so we get frustrated.  That's part of the fun.

I was just thinking "wow, Cabrera's cruising".

Sorry, I won't think those things anymore

I don't blame you, but I blame my brother.  He texted me and said "Cabrera just had 3 perfect innings."

Just joined here.  Been boarding it up for 20 years.  The ole MLB.com board was a dumpsterfire but since then, hit or miss.  I usually try to choose optimism.  Life is hard enough.

Ok I think I found it, the Cubs have scored a runner from 3rd and less than 2 outs 42.3% of the time, last in baseball  The MLB average seems to be 52%.  So if they were league average they’d have roughly 18 more runs scored this year.

If any of my logic is faulty let me know.

I like that AB from Swanson.  Pitcher was likely hoping a frustrated hitter would swing at crap.

Yep, I’ve met many like you in the 23 years here. There are several optimists. Several pessimists.  Several people that fluctuate based on the overall trends of the team. Many that get heated in game threads and then are some of the most level headed posters outside of game threads.  Doesn’t seem much different than any other message board I’ve been on.

also welcome to the board!

That was the best Dansby could do.

It’s like a runner gets in scoring position and everything changes. The vibe changes, players get tight, bad decisions are made.  It’s in their heads at this point.

2 hitters on bottom was big reason they struggled during their losing skid, snd they were hitting back to back
