the only thing i can say about this is if the cubs were gonna have one of the absolute worst stretches of baseball i can imagine i'd rather it happen early than late

Im not sure there are many teams that could survive all the pitching injuries we've had TBH but the offense has no excuse. Theyve been healthy and god-awful since April ended.

I don't disagree, but when has Jed done anything remotely interesting? He has the personality of a ham sandwich, just like the manager he overpayed for.

Jed needs to go first. Counsell might not be the great manger he was billed as, but jed constructed this terrible team. He needs the blame.

Yeah Hoyer and Breslow have the same methodology, results have been pretty clear that this brand of baseball doesn’t lead to success.

It’s not just that they’re losing, it’s not just that they’re 2-5 vs the A’s, Giants and Rockies, it’s the fact that they’re -20 in the run differential column against these bad teams which makes it so much worse. At least they lost on the margins against a tough schedule in that May-June skid of 2024.
