Thats a really nice message.  Yes I have enjoyed him getting into it and it's always fun when he shocks me by knowing things I wouldn't expect him to know.  Heck he even keeps me optimistic as he calls me out if I say something remotely negative lol.  But yeah there's been some really fun memories already.  When DJ Moore caught the TD to beat the Packers it was like Xmas morning times 10 for him.  Similar when PCA hit the game tying HR against the Reds.  Just need to manage the highs and the lows so there is a floor and a ceiling.

Absolutely man! There are good times and low times for all sports teams.

I am definitely double-minded when I watch the Cubs lol. With my grandson, I do my best to stay positive and teach him about the love of the game etc. (even though I walk off sometimes and mutter sweet nothings under my breath away from him because I’m pissed at their play). When I watch the game in my basement alone I tend to definitely be much more critical. I need to relax and just enjoy the game and the team. I’ll always have love for the Cubs - even though right now they’re driving me and many fans nuts 😑

So I have twins, and thats exactly how my other 10 year old is.  That's the kind of sports fandom that I think is a lot more healthy.  Knows whats going on, happy when they win, but doesn't let the performance of random people affect his mood.  If they lose he just does something else.  If they win he enjoys it, just not as much as my other 10 year old.

Dude was celebrating the 2016 World Series before 2016.

Thank you Jed for giving us the joy of knowing we have Phil Maton for two years. Plus the added bonus that Jed is a dumbass, so the club option for a third year will probably be picked up.

Maton is big-brained. 2 outs, go 0-1 on Paredes, then walk him on 4 straight to get to a top 3 hitter in the league

Ah yes, the big brained problem of being unable to locate your breaking ball.  He got Walker out because he found it again.

Why in the world wouldn’t Busch challenge that?!? Put the tying run to the plate with 0 outs in the 9th or try to get a hit off a lefty

Is it just me, or has the broadcast routinely cut back to the action mid-at-bat?

Not just you, and it’s not the first time I’ve seen it happen today. It’s all those damn highlights they show at the worst possible times.
