There's no WAY the Cubs have the 4th fewest K's in the league

According to Fangraphs they're 13th with 381.

Unless you're talking pitching, then they're 13th, with 382.

Obviously this is prior to this game.

Boog said the Brewers have the 5th fewest K's and the Cubs the 4th fewest. Didn't catch if that was overall or in a situational thing

Are we out of challenges or does Ian think we absolutely will have better scenarios in which to challenge later in the game? No better time to challenge than a runner on 2nd, 2 outs and 2 strikes when is trailing 8-3.

All the good done by the bats in that inning and Ian Happ lets them all down.

28 Ks in last 55 ABs

He’s looking at K%, not total strikeouts. Cubs lead the league in plate appearances so maybe that’s why.

Huh.

Can't find anything for 4th and 5th, but apparently they are 1 (MIL) and 2 for fewest K's with the bases empty.

Fun fact, the Cubs do have the most strikeouts with RISP. So that's great. (They do have the most AB).

The Brewers have Shota figured out . Hopefully they can avoid a sweep here . They are in deep horsefeathers with Misioriwski going tomorrow  . Will need a huge outing from Brown .

Shota might be tipping or something, like the broadcast speculated.  They've just owned Shota.  Weren't fooled by much tonight.  Shota a bit off though.

Yeah they have a big problem with Shota facing the Brewers. They dont chase and they pound him in the zone. Idk what they can actually do about it but he shouldn't have faced Bauers because he can at least run into one or crush a meatball; take your shot against Renifo and Ortiz IMO.

This better be the bottom of our starting pitching for the season.  It's atrocious right now.  Maybe BB can outduel the chosen one tomorrow?

does happ have mono or something wtf

He’s just a guy with a 781 OPS since 2022 who’s currently at 805, which will drop another 20 points or so by seasons end..

Happ has got to be the league leader in taking called third strikes.

He's having his worse year in strikeouts this season

66 Ks 171 AB 38% of his outs

Hoyer has a rotation that cant get through 5 innings, and a bullpen filled with mostly dumpster bin signings and some rejects.

Not sure if he can wait til the deadline to fix this

Any pitcher worth signing is going to command a huge price when we are 2.5 months from the trade deadline

Jesus dude have you ever visited fangraphs? You divide the Ks by Plate Appearances, not ABs. Walks have to be accounted for.
