Lol,  The Titans have requested to interview Nagy.

Is he going to bring Fangio, Mack, Roquan, and Akeem Hicks?

Wonder what Harbaugh's exit interview was like.

"John, you came a whisper away from the playoffs despite Lamar missing 4+ games with multiple injuries.  So I guess our first question is, how dare you?"

"John, you didn't have the best RB in the game on the field in multiple situations where running for a first down would have won the game for us.  Bye."

What's the logic?  "Oh yeah, the double-doink.  I remember that.  Let's bring him in."

the John Harbaugh firing kinda superficially reminds me of the Lovie firing but he's also been there 18 years and won a Super Bowl.

Sometimes its right to just move on, but don't be surprised if moving on from a coach who's baseline is "pretty good" results in disaster. It's a gamble.

Although some reports this week have tried to downplay the rumors, there's been rumors nonetheless that there was a bit of a Lamar / coaching spat that was hitting a head. Now maybe they could have forced through that spat, but I'm picking the QB almost every time, but certainly for a 63 year old coach. If it was like McVay type I'd say hold on, but easy to chose Lamar over Harbaugh (and staff) if that was at all part of decision.

But yes, could still end up much worse than they were.

He still knows Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes. The hope is a portion of that was him and a big part of Chicago was Mitch's fault..... I guess.

Parkins was alluding to this a bit when he was on the Score today.  Sounds like there was a decent amount of unrest and has been since midseason.

Mike McDaniel fired today.

What a weirdo. Will he get another head coaching job?

With the QB situation there, that doesn't seem like it's going to be a highly desired job.

The rumor is that the reason the Dolphins did this firing today instead of Monday was that they have the inside track on Harbaugh once he was fired at Baltimore.

If true, and I'm skeptical....the dude must just really be ready for a warm weather climate.  Because I think there's definitely better football situations that he could take over if he wanted.

There’s not really a great situation to hop into. The giants have Dart who may be as concussed as tua. All the best are as big a mess as Miami.

The Falcons have potential, although I could see the front office turmoil maybe being a turnoff.  And Tennessee could be attractive if you like Cam Ward.

I could see LV as being the best situation, #1 pick and an owner (TB) who will push to win. Its a chance to build what you want. As far as Cam Ward, how many times have we've seen a new coach come in with someone else draft pick at QB and not long after, jettison that QB for their guy? It hasnt just been the Bears either

The Raiders owner is Davis and he’s a joke while TB has meddling mimbo vibes

Apparently Jeff Darlington said there's been no contact between Harbaugh's camp and the Dolphins, at least as of a couple hours ago...fwiw.

Interesting thing pointed out by Tom Pelissero. John Harbaugh is 63 years old.  And the NFL is moving towards younger coaches.  The oldest coach in the NFC playoff field is Matt Lafleur at age 49.

Sure, but Sean Payton and Jim Harbaugh are 62 in the AFC field and Andy Reid has had a ton of post-60 success.

there are only so many young offensive minded phenoms. Most of the guys that get hired with that label fail.

That stat is misleadingly specific, though, as the NFC was a tiebreaker away from having a 62 year old coach (Bowles), and the most successful franchise has the oldest coach (Reid, 67), and the AFC field this year has 3 of the 6 oldest coaches in the league (Jim Harbaugh, Sean Payton, Mike Tomlin).

Yeah it definitely falls apart if you look at the AFC side.  I enjoyed it more as a bit of trivia than anything predictive of future hiring trends.
