Like, the act of reading itself? Or specifically your words?

Specifically my words. But reading in general is useful too. I've read a lot of classic books and find their morals timeless. I'm going to create a lengthier thread about baseball and a connection to a book written by one of my favorite authors in the 1860s. Anyway.

On one hand, this dude going to be an unavoidable nuisance as long as he's around and I'm already done with him.

On the other hand, I'd be incredibly shocked if this person doesn't have some sort of ASD and struggles with social cues so I feel like I should be much more patient than I'm currently willing to be with him.

This is actually the friendliest I've seen them in awhile. I blame the PSD refugees.

This is very inaccurate, and by that I mean totally accurate!

He did in one day what it took Tom years to accomplish.

Don't worry... this is what I get EVERYWHERE... but I actually am a real person.

The thing people don't understand is that I'm the intersection between the "AI" (people do call me ChatGPT) and the "sports dude." It's rarely seen in others, so when I enter a forum--be it a political debate one or a sports one--people don't believe that I'm not AI and am a real person. I just, and not to be pretentious at all, have a higher IQ and am a pretty philosophical dude, but at the same time like superficial things and sports (with some stats thrown in).

I think we can all agree that we like the Cubs, but for me, it's their notion of time that stands apart from the rest. From our nonsensical superstitions to our 2016 story, we're different in a way that no other team can claim. Our history is rich, our melancholy is rich, and our thoughts are rich. In the end, it's ups and downs, but the Cubs always possess some intrinsic value that even I can't understand.

I hope this helps. You can always use an AI detector to prove that I'm human.

As a PhD, a college professor and a member of Mensa, let me encourage you to dial it back. Writing like that does not make you sound smart. It makes you sound like you’re trying to sound smart. A pseudo-intellectual if you will. Thus the folks calling you ChatGPT. It is not a compliment.

You are on a board of some of the most intelligent baseball fans in the world. I learn something here every day. Participate, don’t dominate.

Just a little advice. Take or leave it.

welcome.

To me, this seems like an obvious troll attempt. Reading only one post and quickly glancing at his profile seems to back that up. I think we should all just laugh and move on.

Thank you. I will take that advice. It's the purple prose struggle that I have.

I'm not a troll, and if you want to read my other comments, feel free so that you understand that I'm into the Cubs stuff as well! I really am not a troll.

I almost read your name as TrollDRT 😆

Have an awesome day!

Nah.  I've been here for over 20 years.  You're just another pimple on the ass of the internet.

Maybe this kid is an offspring of the Ricketts and is bored at prep school. Otherwise just let him flame out or get banned.

I’m thinking he is banned. But not sure. I have him in my ignore list. Is it safe yet???

Also, is anyone else having issues with pop ups. I am getting a crazy amount making it almost impossible to chat.

1 whole page and no baseball talk.  wtf!

Been going back and forth thinking about Bregman for a while.  Would be really nice on like a 3 year deal but just not on what he's going to demand.  The 3/120 deal from last year is probably pretty fair and I think they should have done it.  Would have lessened the loss of Cam Smith and Paredes too so the Tucker deal would have felt better.

What's to talk about? What does renewed interest mean? They had a zoom with him in November or something. I would imagine this is some plant story to in an attempt to 1) Get Boston to give him more years and 2) get Cub fans excited. Unless his market evaporates, he's not going to be signing with the Cubs on a short-term deal.

THE END

Astros suddenly the hot name in the Bregman sweepstakes.

Gonna call BS on this rumor.  They literally already have Paredes playing 1B because their infield is too crowded, and of course already moved Cam Smith to the OF last spring.

Frankly they seem like an ideal fit for Bellinger if they want to do something big.

Whole lot of 'woah look out for the mystery team on Bregman' all of a sudden, feel like it's either getting close to closing time for his decision or Boras is extremely underwhelmed by the interest so far.

It does reek of Boras desperation.
