This Bad Bunny nontroversy is hilarious. I thought all these idiots "quit the NFL" over Kapernick taking a knee? Weird that they're all still here to once again protest a sport they'll never stop watching

I care very little about the Half time show, to be honest. I find those shows tedious. People who complain about who is performing at the Half time shows are just clowns. Only way you get me to watch the half time show is if you can get Dame Helen Mirren to spoken word style an Eminem song. I watch that just for the absurdity.

So you’re saying a competent organization should be all in on Bryce Young because all he needs is to get out of Carolina?

I don't believe there's any coach who can make Young grow another 5+ inches.  Young might be best served to take the Doug Flutie route and go to the CFL.

You're arguing a point he didn't make.  Regardless of draft status, all 3 of those players were available to any team in the league for just money and the 2 draft picks signed for a combined $4.3 million.  They're having success because the Dallas o-line is very good.  Also, perhaps the rushing offense wasn't good last year because their QB was hurt and didn't play in over half their games and they ran a sub replacement level backup out there so other teams were able to stack the box against the run?  Or maybe they threw the ball all the time because they were constantly behind because they has a backup QB playing?

Glad you added the last part. A good OL helps the running game. So does a competent QB, a passing game, a good OC, having a RB that can find running lanes, break tackles, etc. It isn’t just a matter of having a good OL.

Regardless, his obsession with the Raiders pick is weird.

What’s the issue? I’ve been in dark mode here lately. Limited internet and completely tuned out to the world.

It’s absolutely valid to say nah, he was always overrated.  I’m saying the Bears coaching has been so abysmal on the QB front there’s no way Fields received any kind of NFL-caliber development and that’s what he would have needed, just like many others.  Where he’s at now, with the Jets? Zero chance he does anything.  He’ll never succeed now.  He’s ruined.  He doesn’t have the skills and the window to get rid of bad habits and develop them is long past.  It’s not provable.  Just an opinion.

Someone mentioned Baker and Darnold earlier - both these guys were tossed aside by their drafting teams, had to take on backup roles but then found some coaching/maturity to turn the corner.

QB's are playing into their late 30's and I think Flacco is 40 now. I think there is a lot of runway for Fields to piece together how to play the position and be successful someday.

To temper that, I am not predicting he'll be MVP caliber or top of the league starter, but I think its a mistake given the great lack of supply at QB to think he'll never be able to succeed,

😄

Thing is, there are members of my household who value the halftime show over the game.  So I wind up watching it with them.  I have no clue if it was a "good" or "bad" performance though.  I need to rely on others.

As others have noted, I don't think anything will make Young physically capable of being a legit good NFL QB the way Mayfield and Darnold were and are. I do think there may be meat on the bone for a competent franchise to make him viable, though.

It feels like there have been more successful QB "reclamation" projects in the past few years.

More teams are able to mold their system around the passer not vice versa as many teams did, and I think this breeds confidence as it plays into their strengths and they can play more fluidly without thinking as much.

White men with goatees mad that a Spanish-speaking performer is picked for the Super Bowl instead of some chud like Morgan Wallen

After all Puerto Ricans aren’t Americans.

How the horsefeathers are players still dropping the ball before crossing the plane. Absolutely insane that this keeps happening. Pretty much cost the Cardinals a win yesterday.

this is probably true but it shouldn't obscure that one of their players intercepted a pass, dropped it and another player kicked it into the end zone for the opposing team to cover up for a TD

which brings them to 0-3 since their owner rented out their stadium for a white nationalist's funeral

Not to rehash this argument that's been done to death, but while realizing that last year's Super Bowl halftime show was an objectively good one, it wasn't something I personally enjoyed.

I imagine this year's is likely to be the same. I am not familiar with a single Bad Bunny song, so I don't anticipate being blown away (a la Prince's show). I'm not mad like the facebook chuds, but I'm also not looking forward to it.

The again, I also still maintain that I'd love a Spice Girls halftime show. So maybe I shouldn't be relied upon for pop culture advice.

The irony is that a lot of Puerto Ricans are traditionally conservative.

I’d appreciate more variety for the SB halftime show. Also couldn’t name a single Bad Bunny song. Give me a TLC halftime show!

I've long since passed the time where I have to accept the halftime show isn't for me anymore because I'm too old. More often than not anymore it's people whose work I know nothing about.

Ive been going to SB parties most recent years. I hate it that during the actual game 90% of the people there are yacking it up and not paying attention. Then the half time show comes on and everyone is quiet as a church mouse with full attention to the TV

There was some thought about a month ago Metallica was the rumored performer. Being that the game is in San Fransico but that never panned out.

Same here with my wife, she only pays attention to the commercials and half-time show.  Though she's not yacking it up during the game, most times, she's reading or looking at her phone.

It was probably a better fit for Journey, another San Fran band and possibly not around anymore when the next Super Bowl in San Fran happens. Frankly, I don't care one bit who performs at the Super Bowl. I can just as easily turn down the volume and turn up my own music during the Super Bowl. It's really not that hard to do.

Journey could come out and do a medley of several of their hits, then for the last couple of songs they can bring out Steve Perry to perform those.
