I'm not sure what this meme is talking about, according to the very real and not at all invented for money Venmo Rivalry Series (TM), Penn State and Oregon are each other's blood rivals so PSU shouldn't be on this list

If Illinois had any kind of running game at all they'd be a legitimately scary team, but this run game is just awful.

Yes, I don't get today, they ran for 170+ yards against a far more talented USC front.  Today missed blocks every where, still, even with their lack of execution, this game wasn't really that close.  This game, the awful Purdue QB didn't hurt them as much with his legs and they did a fairly decent job of stopping the RB - Mockebee - who, only looks good against the Illini.

If Penn St loses to UCLA they shouldn't even be in the top 25. This is significantly worse than Illinois getting drummed by a now top 10 Indiana squad> UCLA hasn't even won a game yet.  With that said, looks like Penn St has finally woken up and I expect this one to not end being all that close.

I may finally be on the "fire James Franklin" bandwagon

He might be gone tomorrow

UCLA got smoked by New Mexico who lost to San Jose St last night

This is one heck of a letdown game for Penn St.

Also, does Arch Manning suck?

No. But his name has made him more highly rated than he should be. I think if he sticks around another year, he will improve quite a bit. I also think Texas high preseason ranking had a lot to do with his name.

So this Penn St. run problem gives glimmers of hope for Indiana.

Assuming a loss to Oregon and a win at Penn St. ( still a big assumption ) then with an undefeated Oregon and Ohio St. meeting in the Big 10 Title game ( saving Indiana another Loss ) a 1 loss Indiana team should  be a shoe in for the playoff.

It seems to be 100% a scheme problem. Penn State isn't failing to make tackles on run plays, they're just getting completely outcoached. They are in bad positions, getting blocked off the ball, and aren't adjusting to what the other team is running. I don't get the Jim Knowles hype AT ALL

PSU is unranked. Couldn’t happen to a more overrated team.

3 of the top 4 preseason teams not ranked this week. Really hard to see any of them making playoffs

Penn State has at least two more losses in them
