Big call to bring Jose Ramirez to the plate this inning but great play by Nico

Not sure how good the relievers in question are but the Guardians basically had the choice to face Dansby and Busch with a righty or a lefty and they chose the righty which is what I would prefer if I were the Cubs.

Busch is 7th in baseball in wRC+ vs RHP this year.

Huge insurance run. Close it out Palencia and then we drink (or continue drinking)!

Now we can laugh about the baserunning gaffes because it’s really not something they do regularly

Honestly as embarrassing as it was that they were all bunched up it's the cost of doing business to having a team that runs as much as this one as successfully as they do.

I was watching a Mets game about a week ago and I was appalled at how station to station it was for the non-Lindors of that team.  I felt like Jon Hamm getting pulled out of The Bubble on 30 Rock.  "What do you mean Soto's only on second?  And where's my complimentary throwing error from the right fielder?"

Love when Palencia ahead on count, throws a 100+ heater and then gets them with a 90 offspeed pitch.  Lol

Boyd has really picked up the slack for Steele being out all season, I Imagine if Steele stayed healthy they'd have at least 5 more wins then what they have and have one of the if not best top 3 of a rotation in all of baseball.

I agree 55....if Steele was in there they'd have 3 of the best lefties in baseball dealing. Boyd has been rock solid to say the least. Wouldn't be in first place without him. As for Palencia, he might JUST be rounding into a lights out closer we've been desperately looking for.

Picked up a game and half on Cardinals the last 2 days ( thank you Pirates) so after a rough few games theyre right back to where they were 10 games ago, 4 up on them. 😅

We’re 10-4 in Colin Rea’s starts this year, so maybe pump the brakes on the 5 more wins thing.

good win, bats are picking up, getting some cushion back going into the ASB would be lovely.

Palencia is so fun when he’s throwing darts like that.

Getting more swing and miss now than earlier in the year, which pleases me.   Dude is learning how to use that high octane stuff of his.

Cliff Floyd is my favorite color guy, non-JD division. I don’t care what any of you goobers say.

I was interested to see that if being paired with Cliff, Boog would tone down his I'm smarter than you routine.  He did tone it down some but not completely.

Right. Baseball can be weird. Steele maybe gives us one more win.

We did not have great starting pitching in June but you have to applaud our depth.
