I know that extensions for relievers are generally frowned upon but I would not mind a 2 or 3 year extension for Kepler.  They've unlocked something with him and I don't see it suddenly changing

I think because Counsell thought he would end up getting walked or they would put in a lefty against him. But anything would have looked better than those three Javy-like at-bats.

I get the thinking. What I don’t understand is why a guy with a sub 600 OPS hitting exclusively vs lefties is still a better choice than Busch. I’m sick of this failed experiment.

Not disagreeing with you in the slightest. Turner in the lineup is gross.

When the offense is hitting well and the leadoff hitter gets on I’m thinking crooked number. When the offense is slumping and the leadoff man reaches 1st I’m wondering how quickly until the GIDP happens

Really wish Happ could have gotten to 3rd on that hit but he was probably thrown out if he tried

edit: looked like he hesitated momentarily and that probably cost him 3B

Counsell’s been very adaptable on just about everything: lineup changes, not sticking with Presley and going with the got hand in the pen, yet choses to die on this Turner Sword.

Regression will happen but where’s our slump buster Tucker been?

He's been on base 3 times today

In retrospect it’s pretty wild that there’s pretty much zero fair territory and a giant wall blocking you down the lines at Wrigley
