Had to remind myself how many of that 2016 four were All Stars that year. Bryant and Rizzo were (Baez and Contreras weren’t), plus Zobrist, Fowler, Russell, Arrieta and Lester.

When I said it's a shame what happened to them, I wasn't trying to paint Russell as a victim.  He's human scum.  I meant it from the Cubs perspective.

It's a shame that they had a budding superstar at that position and overnight, they have to make other arrangements because he turned out to be a maniac.

All this went down in May/June 2019 and he actually did return to the Cubs in September of that year (weirdly made his return to the walk up that his wife sang). 

Retired early the next year.

TBF Russell was already kinda going down in flames as a player when it started becoming clear he was also a sociopath
