He is coming off the injury. It sometimes takes time to get back in rhythm.

He can get back into rhythm hitting 7th

Man I swear people are so quick to hate on Happ regardless of the fact that he always ends up with solid numbers.

I don't hate on him at all, I just don't need him striking out 3 times a game from the leadoff spot while he gets his timing down. Move him down for a few games and then move him back up. Worked for Dansby

I hate the Happ hate. He just got off the IL and has been one of the club's most reliable players and is glue in the clubhouse by all accounts (and well liked among the fanbase). Give him a break.

Also I had a feeling during yesterday's outing we'd be seeing the last of Merryweather. Too bad, he just doesn't have it this year. But yeah Kriske was NOT on my bingo card at all. I wonder if it's temporary until Brasier is ready? I also didn't realize how bad Neely has been. That's a bummer, he looked like a real pen piece last year.

I was really big on Eflin as a target at the trade deadline, but he's allowed 7HR in his last 2 starts now.  Either he's really rusty coming back from injury or there's something wrong there.

Counsel’s lineup decisions have worked.  How do I know that? We are winning.  PCA at the 4 did not feel right to me but it absolutely worked. Maybe Dansby will work today.

I like Eflin back from his Phillies days (I live in Philly with a rooting interest). But he hasn't looked great this year. My preferred SP pickup is Joe Ryan or maybe Taj Bradley. I think the Rays are always a team looking to deal.

A Skenes trade is basically unfathomable at this point. Pirates would probably ask for PCA.

Brasier was activated yesterday.

How are the Cardinals this good? Their pitching has been solid.

It’s also over performing, negative regression is in the future.

I love it when JD quotes a stat, and then Cohen repeats the exact same stat 30 seconds later as if he's saying it for the first time.

Except for Hoerner every ball the Cubs have put in play has been 95+, they're seeing the ball well and smoking it.  They keep that up and the runs will come.
