Snow games are fun and all but the biggest news so far this week is Daniel Jones’ strange mea culpa press conference in conjunction with his salary cap protecting benching (avoiding injury guarantees) and then today he’s been granted his release after requesting it from John Mara.

Now he’s free to join any team. Jones stinks, but he’s been an NFL starter which basically guarantees he’s better than most backups. Is he going to Dallas? Will Miami show interest for Tua brain insurance?

Hea probably best served as a good QBs backup for a year or two. Maybe go to a team that has succeeded in reclamation projects, backing up Baker, Goff, Darnold.

Anyway, just wanted an excuse to start the proper week numbered thread

LOL!!!  This Cowboys/Commanders game is the funniest game I've ever seen.

The Commanders pulling a Chicago, that had to be heart breaking. 89 yard TD pass with little time remaining to potentially tie the game up. Then miss the extra point forcing you into an onside kick which is returned for a TD.

Someone posted a graphic that showed up on my Facebook feed that showed the game was like 13-9 with 6:47 left in the game. Final score 34-26. I looked at the box score, and it actually shows the game was 13-9 up to 5:16 left on the clock when Dallas made it 20-9. It was a 41 point 4th quarter totalling 7 different scores.

I had the game on, but was paying way more attention to the Bears.

Losing by 3 to the Chiefs is the most fun I've had watching Carolina in like 5 years. Bryce Young actually looked really good.

I'm not sure I saw him make a bad throw decision or put the ball in the wrong spot the entire game, maybe on one of the early red zone trips when the margins were even smaller.  Really good poise on a few 3rd down blitzes too.

Sure would be nice for you guys to not be using another top draft pick on a QB, which seemed inevitable at the halfway mark of this season. I have a few close friends in San Diego that became Panther fans when they became a franchise. Actually went to Soldier last year with them for the frigid November game. They sure haven't had much to cheer about since the prime Cam years.

I wonder if this is an insurance policy if McCarthy sucks/knee never recovers and Darnold turns back into Darnold of old.

Seems like an optionality thing for Vikings, and an opportunity for the coach to cement his reputation as a QB whisperer. If he can be a playoff team with Darnold, do they negotiate a new contract? Assuming Darnold goes to highest bidder in free agency, Jones has the inside track to be the guy that competes with McCarthy.
