Are we really asking why people dislike the most successful baseball team of the last decade? I get wanting to emulate their front office philosophy but fans of other teams hating the good teams in anything is historically like the most basic and universally accepted concept to grasp.

Generally speaking people don’t really hate on the good teams for being good until they actually win at least one title. But really more like 2+. That’s universal. Most people don’t care about the bridesmaids

Eh. They won the covid title and were the team that last knocked us out of an actual playoff spot, a year after we beat them in a series with at least a couple hate-able moments (Adrian Gonzalez and the review at the plate specifically). They've been the main boss to get out of the NL for like 8 years now. More than enough for a lot of people.

The Yankees hadn't won a pennant in 15 years before this month(16 teams had in the meantime!), never mind a world series, and I don't think hatred for them has really abated.

Yankee hate is universal and crosses the sports universe. Much like cowboys and lakers. It’s the default team to hate

But in general go ahead and hate every team. I’m agnostic this fall, but will enjoy whichever team loses

Looking at this its frustrates me to no end.  There's absolutely no excuse as why the Cubs aren't the "Dodgers" of the NL Central, shouldn't even be close.

I realize Rizzo is playing with broken fingers so this may not be a fair assessment, but it's hard to imagine a team giving him anything more than a minimum deal next season.  The Yankees are probably still the best fit for for him, but they are going to be looking to improve that position.  Are we possibly seeing the end of his MLB career with this series?

For a sport that is such a crapshoot in the playoffs, it's pretty surprising that of the 24 teams before tonight that went up 3-0 in the World Series, 21 of them completed a sweep.
