On the positive side of things, PCA almost up to a .600 OPS now

Considering where he was as a hitter this  is definitely something good to hold on to.

Can’t believe I’m saying this but this team is too patient sometimes. 3-1 count down 2 runs in the 6th, Busch takes strike 2 and strike 3 looking. I get the desire to get on base to start the inning but feel like there are quite a few situations where the Cubs should be looking to drive the ball but instead are taking good pitches

He took ball 4 on a 3-1 pitch that literally was never in the zone but gor called a strike. I don't know what you want him to do.

I get it, but what's done is done with strike 2 and I want him to be aggressive on the last pitch and not take strike 3.

Sorry I’m at the game and sitting down the 1B line, kind of hard to judge some of those pitches but I’ve seen this happen all night and for certain hitters *coughSeiyacough* all year and was starting to annoy me.

I'm sure Happ is eventually going to go on one of his 2 week heaters, but the extended periods where he is one of the worst hitters in baseball are really annoying.

Happ will go on his heater when the Cubs are officially out of the playoffs like he always does

Ump blows 2 balls on Bellinger for 2 strikes

Then Belly waves at strike 3 because what’s he going to do?  Everything is a strike so you have to swing.  This is a big reason why I like the idea of robot umps.  Players should be concentrating on the other team, not playing head games with umps.

Exactly. And had he swing and popped up people would be bitching that he swung at ball 4. But he shouldn’t have taken strike 3. That was a strike. Of course he should have been in first the pitch before that.

Agreed. They have the technology. They should use it. Umpires calling balls and strikes has gotten worse and worse.

Fair enough, being at the game certainly makes it a different experience.

And I don't disagree that we've taken strike 3 entirely too many times this year.

Duran is nasty, I don't have any idea how he's only striking out 8 per 9.

Jax has been better, assume we'll see him in the 9th. Potential saving grace is that his last two outings were against the Sox and so it's possible he forgot how to pitch to major league hitters.
