PCA just has game breaking speed. He has to do so little offensively to be tremendously valuable. If he could even be a .700 OPS guy he'd probably put up 4+ fWAR with his defense and baserunning.

Per MLB.com, the Cubs are also now in on the mix for Snell. Why?

Case they trade Taillon 🤷‍♂️

Snell has option for 2025

Edit: wait I just saw Snells number this year wtf

Historically, Snell is way better in the second half.

Career 3.95 ERA in the first half and 2.50 in the second half.

What the catch here? The Rays trade a 25 YO all star with team control for a few more seasons for one of the leagues worst position players as the key piece in this trade package?

Junior Caminero is the Rays top prospect and they see him in the majors soon and can man 3B.

The Rays have a guy in AAA who they believe can contribute at the big league level next year.

Junior Caminero is more than just "a guy in AAA."

Fangraphs has him as the #3 prospect in baseball, behind only James Wood and Jackson Holliday. He had a cup of coffee last year where he didn't look completely lost despite bypassing AAA entirely. In his first crack at AAA this year as a 20 year old, he's hit .271/.330/.500. His power potential is as high as just about anybody in baseball.

He's gonna be a heck of a player.

14th loss in a row for the WSox, I almost feel pity at this point. Then I remember they can't pick in the top 10 despite being historically awful and I laugh and I laugh.

Can we please stop pitching Neris everyday?  How is the pace looking for his vesting option?

They're probably gonna trade him

I think that today is #40

If they hold on, that makes them 11-4 vs above 500 AL teams.
They’re remarkably consistent. Lose 2/3 to any and every NL team not named the Rockies scoring at a clip of 2 runs/game, pull wins out of their a$$es vs teams like the Orioles and Royals where the offense shows life.

This is Neris 40th appearance, they have 48 more games. He needs inly 20 more appearances to flip his contract option to a player one.

Ugh.  Unless he is traded, that's nearly a done deal.

It’s been a very rough season but cue up Ice Cube. Today … was a good day.

Great trade plus great win.

Let me preface this by saying I'd very much prefer Neris not being on the 2025 team, but he's actually starting to work himself into simply bad rather than horrific peripherals. He's still very much not worth his contract, but he's kind of tolerable now.
