I would say I feel pretty good about this game and tomorrow's game.  Tonight's game less so, but it's far from out of hand.

Assad for Little and Ethan or Palencia as the 27th man?

That'd be my best guess, and probably Palencia of those two.

Roberts not being the 27th man means he's staying up I believe.  Otherwise this is just needlessly burning an option.

He’s almost certainly not using 5 of them, no?  I figure this is maximizing the pen since Assad won’t be needed for about 10 days to start anyway.

Yeah I guess using 5 probably isn’t a concern this late.  Maybe too they have another reliever up (Palencia?) that they're ready to activate if things go south and the bullpen gets shredded in either game today.  Roberts is a lot easier to option right back in that scenario than Assad.

Hope this isn't going to be one of those little hot streaks in July that will make Hoyer rethink about doing much of anything and basically stay as is with these guys.

He'll say something like, we got guys coming off the IL that will help us the rest of the way and we feel strongly about our chances with the guys we have.

Then they play under 500 ball in August

What would you expect them to do? This is exactly what you suggested. And because of this they can’t sell off right now. And for that matter, what do you really expect them to sell and get. Or on the flip side, what do you honestly expect a team with maybe a 20% chance to make the playoffs, trade for? Does not selling now really hurt them for next year or even the year after. Who are they selling and what can they honestly expect back. And should they really give away solid prospects to buy someone? I would say no. Unless they buy someone like Paredes, who has years left, or Robert, I don’t expect much. And IMO, that is not a wrong decision by the FO.

Lance Lynn sucks, I hope he gets one strikeout so he can do that dumb wave off thing and then seiya hits the next one into Big Mac land.

I can't wait until PCA gets a bunt single off of him and he has a complete mental breakdown on the mound

If we can somehow win 2 of the these 3 we’d have to feel good with AZ and MIL combining to Wrigleyville after the break.

Damn umpire changed the entire inning with a blown strike call on a ball six inches outside.
