CC pulls Steele mid-inning, preventing him (AGAIN) from any chance for his first win of the season

It's really odd how early he pulls his starters, not necessarily tonight, yet he'll leave his relievers in there to just get destroyed.

Well I think the other main point is that you’re looking backwards (what were the results of the at bats that have already happened), whereas TT, myself, and others are trying to make best guesses on what will happen on a go forward basis, and the ultimate box score results of the plate appearances aren’t the best predictor of future performance.

I get it but seriously theres no predictor of future performances, nobody knows what going to happen in the future no matter what their expected hit ball or luck was previously.

we should always expect someone who has a track record of being a good hitter to eventually start hitting better, luck or not. But just because a ball they hit today was an out doesn't necessarily mean that same ball could be a hit next week, and the same can be said with some hits.

In case anybody was wondering, the Cubs have only scored 10+ runs twice all season long, and not since April 16th.  Without major changes, and quickly, this could be a historically bad offense.

I'd be happy if they can just put up 4-5  runs on a more consistent basis

Boosh is playing a better first base lately.

He’s 4th in MLB in OAA (T-5th in DRS) among 1st basemen. He’s been tremendous, especially after the rough first few weeks adjusting.

Me likes Busch batting higher in the lineup.

He should hit second every day. Lefty, righty, don’t care.

SLG doesn't exist in your world?

It does..

I look at BA, OBP, SLG and I like OPS

That all I need to know about how a player been hitting for the season and lately.

Like I said, all the other stats are cool to look at but they dont really show the success of a hitter and as one poster suggested future other then you can hope that eventually some of those balls will fall in but like I said if a hitter has had success in previous seasons he will likely get better as the season goes on.

How long are you defining ‘track record’
