There's something really funny about watching Kyle "the worst pitcher in baseball history" Hendricks just mow down the Cardinals and then complaining about our offense. Offense is broken everywhere guys, league wide OBP is .311, we're bad at it but this is going to happen.

It's going to be darkly hilarious when Hendricks pitches 6 innings of shutout ball and we still lose 2-1 or whatever.

Pitchers are throwing Swanson the same pitches over and over and until he starts taking them to right field they're never going to stop.

17th in RS, trending the wrong direction, and have played more games than almost every team behind them. Nope, they just suck.

Yea, too bad they can't play at ballparks where they could possibly score more runs on certain game days.

Someday the Cubs will hit a ball hard and it will be a base hit. That's a world I'd love to live in

And yet we keep losing and I keep reading that its not the bullpen's fault, its not the offense's fault, not the starter's fault.  Defense and baserunning play a part but (probably) not to the degree the other 3 do.  Are we just getting incredibly unlucky?  This is a serious question.

Hendricks probably gets inserted as a starter again after shutting down the mediocre cardinals and i bet he gets rocked as he faces a competent offense

I was kinda thinking the same thing. But really, the bullpen stats say that, recently, they are an average group with unluckiness bringing them to mediocrity, and the offensive stats say they've been the back half of average, and they are 10th in starter fWAR in the last 14 days, and in that stretch they've gone 5-7. Which....makes sense? It's not "Good" by any measure, but it's a team projected to win 83-86 games, going 5-7 is going to happen quite a bit I would assume.

My god he throws so many uncompetitive pitches. Hottovy needs to get this dude right.

Just this guy?  The entire bullpen needs to get right.

The offense has been both bad and unlucky.  I have a hard time putting the record on the pitching because every single inning is high leverage and that takes a toll.
