Really happy Busch got it done too. The GIDP sucked but making contact twice in a row seems positive. Not completely giving up on him yet

Cubs will end up being sellers in July, watch...

This is a one of your more ridiculous statement. And that is saying something. Because you make a lot of them.

They were 9 games under .500 in mid-June last year and were buyers.  As frustrating as this run is right now have patience.

Ehhh.. they were close to trading Bellinger last year til Swanson talked him out of it and who did they add, Cuas and Candelario...

This season if they're under .500 in July, Hoyer won't hesitate to trade away Bellinger,  Happ, etc. and bring up the kids from Iowa and let them play out the season.

I know eventually a couple of these guys will start hitting again, just hope it not too late and the SP continues to pitch well enough

Funny because most of what I say ends up true or close to it...

If this team is underachieving and are below 500 in July, there's no doubt Hoyer will trade guys like Bellinger and Happ

Good luck trading Happ if he’s hitting close to the Mendoza line,

Can we possibly blame Seiya's injury for his poor play since returning? Those oblique injuries can be tricky and affect his swing/power even if he's healthy enough to play.

.170/.231/.255/.486 with 2 XBH in 52 PA since returning. He looked so locked in before the injury, so frustrating that he can't stop injuring his oblique.

I think so, at least to a degree. In one of his first games back he took an awkward swing and looked like he tweaked it again. I was sure in the moment he was going back on the IL, but he continued. I've wondered if he's been playing hurt/cautious ever since.

How many stolen bases have we given up where we have had absolutely no chance to get the runner?

The Cubs' catching situation is about as bad as I can remember. Simply awful in just about all phases.

Maybe we should have gotten more than 4 hits against one of the worst SP in baseball.

I do appreciate the decent sequencing of those hits though.

I didn't realize just how bad Amaya's hitting has been.  I knew it was bad but didn't realize he had a .109/.180/.164/.344 batting line over the last month (6-55 with 1 XBH).  And he's the better of the 2 catchers on the roster.

Can this guy stfu already? It was an error, plain and simple. The throw was good and Goldy dropped it. No more analysing needed.

Takes me back to Damian Miller/Paul Bako, but somehow worse.

PWizzy!

I know that Wisdom is much better in certain matchups but he's one of the few Cubs hitters that's actually hitting well in May.  Perhaps need to find ways to get him in the lineup more.
