Maybe the bats will wake the Fuk up now

Until Jed reads your post and pays Fukudome $1000 a week to take some AB’s.

I’ll be very happy to not see the Padres again. horsefeathers.

The Padres arent particularly annoying to me, its the Cubs being unable to hit or pitch with their bullpen that is annoying.  Doesn't matter who we're playing.

This is 2023 all over again.  They started 14-10 in April, then the offense went into a tailspin and the bullpen was bad.  This team is keeping their heads above water but the trend is very similar to me.

I mean, yes in the respect that both teams started May 3-3 and likely 3-4. Which isn't terrible, obviously. If they go 5-13 from here, I will have no other choice but to believe and expect all of your doom bonering going forward.

Yeah feels like every loss to them has been a gut punch

lol everyone yelling at Craig to keep the starters in because the bullpen sucks, he does and now people are mad he didnt trust his pen.  Can't win.

There’s a difference between pulling a starter at 80 pitches in the 6th to go to a depleted pen vs letting a guy go 100+ for the first time in the 8th with all your “best” relievers available.

You are just desperately looking for horsefeathers to pile on your game thread righteousness arent you?  what dont you get about "they are keeping their heads above water right now but the trend is very similar"

Yep, I've been in the "extend the starters" camp myself, but I didn't love sending Imanaga out for the 8th under these circumstances.

Completely understand that.  I'm just saying there are no right answers right now.

Hahaha I mean, I was mostly kidding. One of us has been very on brand this thread, and it hasn't been me. We won the series against our main rival 48 hours ago.

Love how the Padres offense was from a 85mph .210 xBA single and a HR that only goes out at Wrigley and whatever Miller Park is called now.

Probably true. But nobody would have second guessed CC going to Yency to start the inning or after the Arraez infield single.

Shota didn’t make bad pitches so I wouldn’t even say it was a *bad* decision, just seemed like a strange move.

Does seem like every team has some dude in the lineup that's just completely, unreasonably on fire (Contreras for Milwaukee, Profar and his 950 OPS this year) and we have to settle for Mike Tauchman working 11 pitch walks to get excited about.
