The Astros early issues have been entirely pitching.  Injuries to the rotation and then a bullpen struggling to cover the extra innings (hey that sounds familiar).

So you'd really love to win these first two games and lock in a series win before drawing Verlander.  He's not nearly as intimidating as he was, but the Astros when getting even solid starting pitching are a tough draw.

Besides Caritini, how about some of that mesmerized the first time facing an opposing pitcher horsefeathers for the Astros today?

What's the local weather saying for tonight's game? My future radar only goes to 6pm and looks like there's some small cells starting to popup right around then.

It doesn't look like weather will be an issue based on what I'm seeing.  Tomorrow might suck though, but not because of rain, because it will be in the low 40s.  And of course as soon as the Cubs go on the road again this weekend the weather gets really nice again.

You just know the Cubs are gonna get Abreu rolling in this series, like they sort of did last year. He came into that series hitting 214/262/253/42. He hit 300/364/400/115 against us and hit 245/308/436/103 thereafter.

Oh lord, over/under on Yordan Alvarez dongs at like 2.5

Hoping for some Belli, Busch, Mervis, and Happer bombs. I would say there's a chance Yordan hits one to the moon though.

Needing lefty bat I guess for DH if Tauchman is playing in the OF with guys hurt

Getting a second chance, hopefully he sticks this time

Cubs just keep making my day. Busch in the cleanup spot, with Hoerner/Happ batting 1-2. Mervis batting 8th behind Tauch, should get some opportunities to drive him in.
