Cubs are off to a 1-2 start to the road trip but should be 2-1. Mariners off to a slow start to the season and sit at 5-8. I get to watch the game as its not on Marquee! Eat a bag of horsefeathers Ricketts! Happy Friday!

Cancelled my Apple TV+ subscription (for now) but it doesn't expire until the 16th.  Good timing!

I did too on some 3-month free special. Mine ends the 17th

The Good News:

- We get the Mariners #4 and #5 starters this weekend

- They get to match up with Wicks and Shota from our side

- The Mariner's offense has been a dumpster fire to start the year

The Bad news

- Hancock and especially Miller would rank higher than 4 & 5 in most rotations

- I'm not exactly sure where you'd rank Luis Castillo among current SPs but the number of guys you could reasonable argue ahead of him is certainly in the single digits

- The Mariners moribund offense has actually been pretty okay against lefties

(old man yells at dystopian cloud)

So I pay Youtube for their live TV service, which doesn't include the local baseball team's games for...reasons. So I pay Marquee another $20 a month for a different app that isn't available in the Samsung operating system so I have to screen mirror from my phone because that seems like a better option than plugging in a Roku and having to re-enter all my passwords for all 8 apps I'm either paying for or mooching off someone else. All to, in theory, watch the baseball games of the baseball team I am paying, separately, for the privilege of watching. And here we are, on a Friday night, leaving me in my situation, paying for live cable tv and also paying the baseball team directly, unable to watch said baseball team with jumping through yet another series of hoops.

There was a time in my life where I said I would never pay to watch my sports teams.  That was a long, long time ago. I have MLB TV since I'm out of the Chicago market.  To me, it's a steal at $95/year (using the MLBPAA discount) to see any game outside my market.  From what I've read, this will include the Apple TV games.

I'd consider a move to Fubo, they have Marquee. And their interface isn't a horsefeathers trashfire like DirecTV Stream.

I'm fairly sure the AppleTV games are NOT included on MLB.TV.

I think the Cubs can take this series. It would be nice to sweep and then only have to win one in Arizona for an @.500 WC road trip.

Here is a 3 months free offer for Apple TV+ that worked for me.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/apple-free-apple-tv-for-3-months-new-or-qualified-returning-subscribers-only/6484512.p?skuId=6484512

I canceled my Apple TV+ subscription after last baseball season (or possibly toward the end of the season) and it has been inactive since then.  I was able to apply the offer from Best Buy and it re-activated my account with the next billing date set to July 12.  So I think as long as you are a new subscriber, or your account has been inactive for long enough, this should work for you too!

I want to watch this game, but I will probably be nodding off by the third inning.

You might get disappointed.  I have mlb.tv and am not sure they showed these last year.   I can't remember

Nope.  They don't show the Peacock games either (if that is still a thing this year).

The Athletic reported yesterday that Peacock will not have games this year. MLB is in negotiations with some top-secret entity to air that package of games for this year still but we don't know who it is yet.

Oh, great.  Yet another service to add to the list.  Watch it be something stupid like DAZN.

Wouldn't be shocked if it's Prime. They have done well with the NFL

Looking at the schedule, I didn't even realize this until now but the Cubs dont play their first division series of the season until early May.  I know there are less divisional games now but that seems strange.
