Another massive whiff by Poles. Even though I wanted to trade the pick, it's only fair to say we were both idiots, only his opinion is the only one that matters. 

This is looking like a historically bad mess up by Poles. Stroud now has 14 TD to 1 INT this year.

We really really need to get Williams or maye and they need to hit.  There's a really plausible path where we manage to dodge all the good QBs the last few years and stay in QB hell for another decade

Maybe I'm crazy but I'm not ever gonna get mad at the CJ Stroud situation. I'm always going to be in favor of maximizing the assets you have, especially after it appeared that Fields took some big strides forward last year, rather than spending multiple picks on the same position and squandering resources. I'm glad they traded down, but it would be unfortunate if Stroud was a generational talent and we missed out on him. But I wouldn't ever really regret the move. 

Now this year....well. Fields has 8 games to show you something (and if even if he does show you something, you still probably wanna take a QB)

I don’t think anyone said draft Stroud with the #1 pick. I can’t blame Poles for that. No one saw him being this good.

We are really gonna play ourselves into QB hell continuing.  We will pick something like 2nd and 7th, take MHJ and the third QB who turns out to bust.

As much as he looked like he was putting it together the last two games, he just had what was likely the worst half of football he has played in the NFL.

I mean, it kinda does in the sense that there's absolutely no chance they do.

But I'm still not convinced he isn't the better QB.  Why would today change my mind? Because he led the offense to 17 points and peed down his leg in the 4th quarter? That doesn't preclude him from being better than fields

Fields has more upside obviously. But we’re undecided on Fields in year three and Bagent only has a handful of games under his belt with very little time with the #1s and has shown that he has some talent. Why does Fields get 3 years and Bagent gets 3 games? Yes start Fields when he’s healthy, but I wouldn't dismiss Bagent this soon. Bagent doesn’t have the arm strength necessary to be great. Fields doesn’t have the decision-making to be great. With that said, Fields' is 11th in TDs and 14th in rating even though he's missed 3 games and the Bears are 14th in points. Not too shabby.

Why are we pretending 17 points is an accomplishment? Fields has a much better resume. It’s not just 3 games vs 3 years. Fields has done more in his life. Not the least of which was surviving last season when his GM openly set him up to fail.

It doesn't have to be an accomplishment to be on par with fields.  The Bears have scored 17 or fewer points in 15 of his 31 career starts.
