Just saw that this week it’s Cameron Ward vs Michael Penix to close both their regular seasons. Not really relevant to Besrs fans but man oh man do I hope one of these guys is starting for the Jets next year

Done with Rodgers already?

Drake Maye had another pretty Marginal game 22/38 for 254 passing yards 2TD and 2INT. He did have a big day running the ball, but that's not really a tool I'd expect him to utilize in the NFL.

MHJ had a nice performance in a huge game against Michigan, 5 catches 118yds and 1 TD

Penix had a disappointing game putting up 18/33 for 204 yards 2TD and 1INT

Nix's stock is soaring putting up another big game 33/40 367 yards 2TD 0INT

USC did not play, so no Caleb Williams

Barring a really bad combine, I think Nix has pretty much guaranteed himself a place in the top 10. 37TD to 2 INT is absolutely crazy.

Seems like things are really starting to click for Nix after 56 collegiate starts. He screams, "Jake Locker" to me, but I'm all for him putting up elite performances. Whoever wins next week's Pac-12 championship needs a great showing in the playoff to get another guy in that top 10 range.

I think the sweet spots for the Bears pick (assuming Carolina's pick is 1 or 2) are 3 or like pick 8. Pair a QB with MHJr. if they finish with the 3rd pick. Or be in QB3 range for a trade down. 8th pick could be in the range of teams like Tampa, Washington or Atlanta if they blow the division lead they got today.

I know Center isn't one of those positions you give assets trading up for, but man would I really love pairing Fashau/Alt with Sedrick Van Pran. The OL is immediately amongst the best in the NFL and for a long time. I just don't see Van Pran making it Chicago's 3rd round pick.

Well it is likely that if the Panthers convey the first overall pick to the Bears, and they trade it, they will also have the draft position or ability to utilize capital in a trade to grab Van Pran in the 2nd.

Games of importance

Patriots(2-10) lost to the Chargers(5-7)

Arizona(2-10) up 17-3 on Pittsburgh(7-4)

Jets(4-8) lost to Atlanta(6-6)

Titans(4-8) lost to Colts(7-5)

Only chance the Bears have for any help from the AM games is for Arizona to hold on.

New England moving to 2 is about as awesome as it gets. I feel like the Bears can hold out for the Patriots first rounder in 2025, which might be the first pick in the draft again next year.

NY, LA and Chi are a combined 23-37, good for a .383 w%. Add in Houston and Phoenix to round out the five biggest cities and you get 33-52, .388%

The draft broadcast should break records this year.

If Bill is still around I would bet against him trading up. But if he is fired I could see it.

I have severe doubts he's willing to go through a long rebuild process. I'd bet he's retiring after this year

Worth noting that the Pats play Trubisky and the Steelers that just lost to Arizona on Thursday night.

Yeah, I'd guess under 20 total points scored in that game. It's going to be a disaster.

I still refuse to believe Arizona is going to pass on either Maye/Williams just because they have Murray. Kyler kind of sucks,

Nah, Kyler's pretty decent. Look like a completely different team with him back in there. They also just got Win #3 and won't win SOS tiebreaker vs. anyone, so NE has to win 2 and Carolina 3 games to get them back in QB1 or 2 range.

Why would we be trading down?

The trading down would be under the assumption Fields will be the QB going forward, so trading down to 2 from 1 gives NE the top QB pick and the Bears get MHJ. If Fields isn't the QB going forward, then yeah, no point in trading down. Bears will need the top QB.
