Yeah that’s more like it . If they are going to lose , just get pounded early . It’s sucks but not as much as losing late

Assad was used on 2 days rest after throwing close to a 100 pitches and after 1 day off he is going at it again. Poor guy

Went from dreading Stroman opting out to disappointed he isn’t going to opt out

Why? He isn’t even stretched out, probably not even 100%. I’m good with him being back.  The only sure starter in the rotation next year is Steele.

I hate that they allowed Stroman to make starts down the stretch in place of Assad. What an all around choke job from the players, to the GM, and of course, the manager.

I'm hoping they can work something out and are able to move him if he does opt in.

He's 100% opting in. No one will give him anything long term or a short term deal heftier than the one he can opt into with the Cubs with him coming off back to back injury plagued seasons and he's been awful for more than half the season now.

I Have no doubt he opting in, just saying that maybe they can make a trade afterwards

Doubt any team would unless he proves he's healthy and pitching well, and if he is at that point the Cubs are better off holding on to him. He hasn't pitched well in months, no one would take him for over 20 mil

They'd have toveat some salary but it could be done, or they could tell him if he opts in then they'll use him out of the bullpen

These guys checked out, they're ready for the offseason.

Guess we will see PCA , Canairo,  Amaya,  and maybe they'll call up Mervis and others to play this weekend.

Appreciate the Cubs getting put away early enough tonight so I could watch Bedard’s first preseason game. Onto another bad Chicago team.
