A near 30 year old dude having a career year at AAA is a lot less likely to have any success at the major league level.

More likely than dudes having worse years at AAA? Why? I'm not talking about long term career success, I'm talking about for the next week.

It’s more than likely none of them have success, especially with how sparingly PCA and Canario have been used. Go with the guys who give you the most upside and that is clearly Canario with his bat and PCA with his defense.

It's getting to the point where the losses barely sting anymore.  Yes I rant and rave like everyone but for as hurtful as those 2 losses were to our sinking playoff hopes, they mostly bounced right off of me the way they wouldn't have a week earlier.  I guess what I'm saying is, if they win its a nice boost going into the weekend, if they lose its just more of a same and we can use this Simpson photo:

Yea, before the deadline I was like ho hum it doesn't matter,  then they started winning and looked to have a legit shot at first place so I got excited.  Now the last 2 weeks of playing bad baseball and with first out of reach and hanging on a thread for a WC spot, im back to really not caring one way or the other..

If they make it, great, extra baseball, if not, let get the offseason rolling and upgrade this roster.

Great job Seiya to pick up Dansby. Bad job to send the runner. I know there were 2 out but anything other than to the backstop was going to get Happ there.

Yeah - I agree on the bad send. Normally with 2 outs, i would say go for it, but this pitcher was really struggling with command.

We know what kind of hitter Young is, he's been up before and he's been mid. We know how's he's fared at AAA over a large sample size. I will take the upside and talent the other young kids offer over a guy who has shown he's nothing special. Flukey one year wonders from old dudes who have seen AAA pitching over a number of years is pretty common.

Especially given that the bottom third of the order was due up, the bar is very low for me to send him there.  With two outs good process only needs to be better odds than the OBP of the hitter due up, and I don't think it's unfair to think that 1 in 3 throws from Jones in that situation let Happ get in safely.

And on top of that, this guy Nolan Jones apparently leads the NL in assists? That makes it even worse - you know this guy doesn't have a bad arm.

Is our 3rd base coach really bad.  He has had some horrible sends lately.  This pitcher can’t throw strikes and struggles against lefties.  Zero reason to send there

He's probably gonna get a hit here because baseball is cruel, but with Young coming up that send makes a lot of sense.

The entire logic for campaigning for PCA and Canario has essentially been 'sure they aren't ready to be good or even average MLB hitters but maybe they'll go on a heater', but now when we think about Young it's 'he's been on a heater at AAA, it won't continue here'?  Okay.

Also it is way past time to move Seiya up in the lineup. At least flip flop him and Dansby

Swanson should be pushed further down, he's pretty much an automatic out in clutch situations.  Put him in a place where's he's less likely to come up in such situations.
