I don’t care about pitcher wins one iota. That said, get Justin Steele a win tonight.

I dont really care about them but I believe Steele is either leading the league or 1 off the league lead in wins so I'd also love to see a W for him

This has to be Steele's last batter.  He has an arguably bigger start on Sunday vs. Cincinnati and is at 110 pitches.  Not great

Great bounceback though.  Was at 71 pitches through 2 innings and finished the last 4 in 40 pitches

I bet he goes Monday. With the day off on Thursday I think they will give everyone an extra day. Wick and a minor league call up Friday. Assad Saturday and Tallion Sunday. I think that is why he let him go 112.

I was looking at defensive runs saved the other day and thought "theres no way the Brewers can be that much higher than the Cubs".  I guess I can see why now.

The Brewers are 14th in MLB in run differential and 6th in winning percentage

It seems that on either end of the spectrum, the run differential makes sense. The really good teams have a very positive run differential, and the really bad teams have a big negative.  In the middle, it tends to make less sense to me. The Brewers spent a lot of the season in negative run differential territory even though they were in first place. San Diego has a significant positive run differential, but they’re out of the playoffs(in all likelihood).

OH horsefeathers yeah for some reason I was thinking the off day was on Monday.  Yeah he'll get an extra day which makes the decision to push him through that inning better, though that just means we don't get to use Steele in the important Cincinnati series.

Come on no GIDPs, we need to at a minimum get that pitch count higher, though I suppose that just means we get to their lockdown pen sooner.

Instead he will pitch in the important SF and important Arizona series.

Of course Seiya gets screwed out of ball 4 and then strikes out.  Instead of bases loaded 1 outs its 1st and 2nd with 2 outs.

horsefeathers umps

Terrible call completely changes the entire complexion of the inning.  Of course Seiya shouldnt have taken strike 3 and Candelario shouldn't have swung at garbage but still

It’s annoying that burnes waits until there are guys on base before he remembers he’s an incredible pitcher.

Though I’m sure they were saying the same thing about Steele

There’s one.

Minor Marquee complaint: I wish that they would flash the radar gun reading over a different spot than the count. Over the outs, or ideally the pitch count. That half second to see what the count is after missing the first couple pitches of the AB (and inevitably getting confused by the hitter being 0-2 or whatever) is annoying.

10 pitch inning for Leiter. He’s gotta stay in to face Yelich to start the 8th right?

Absolutely. Maybe even pitch the entire inning. Merryweather has sucked against the brewers. I think the plan is Lieter for 2 innings.
