Under my tutelage, the Cubs finally broke their losing streak on Wednesday

Now the Cubs head up to Minnesota to begin what might be their toughest road trip of the year

Pitching for the Twins is Sonny Gray.  He's one of the OG sweeper pitchers, so expect all the lefties including Eric Hosmer and Tucker Barnhart to start tonight

Opposing Gray is Drew Smyly, one of Jed's shrewder moves

Go Cubs, win two in a row tonight

The Twins are borderline helpless against lefties so the Cubs have that going for them tonight. The series should be interesting but I think the Cubs have the advantage tonight, despite Gray being borderline unhittable this season. The Twins have a habit of making mediocre lefties look like Koufax so a quality lefty like Smyly might keep them scoreless for a long time.

Let me just check these vs. LHP numbers...

Also looks like they worked their pen pretty hard against the Padres.  Duran is their only good reliever who tonight wouldn't be his 3rd in a row or 3rd of 4.

Yeah, I wasn't exaggerating about their struggles vs LHP. Which is really inexcusable in a lineup that features Byron Buxton and Carlos Correa.

Checking in here to apologize for missing a game thread start. And then to basically say that between getting a new computer at work and the URL hopping back and forth, this site has somehow ended up on the blocked list for my company. Which is where I am for basically 99% of my NSBB consumption. Which sucks. So might have to get used to coming here through my phone more. 
 

more relevant: More Morel is good, but he is not a lead off hitter. Just put Swanson there and be done with it. Ross is getting very tiring.

Give it a couple of weeks and then get back to me. I might have some avenues to check to get the site whitelisted but with the recent domain turmoil, don’t want to try right now.

You don’t have to do that. You can go to audio options in the ATV app and sync to local radio broadcast.

I’m sick of getting 2nd and 3rd with 0 outs and only getting a single run on a sac fly. The Cubs set themselves up for so many big innings and then just shoot themselves in the foot repeatedly.  1 run is better than 0 obviously but some of these should be 2+ run innings
