Man, I love pinch hitting for the DH on a nightly basis.

And then can't make him the catcher because you lose the DH (I think) so you're forced to have Gomes strike out pathetically on 3 pitches.  Definitely some holes on this team.  Or the manager just sucks.  Or both

If they tried to move Torrens to catcher and chose to pinch hit any sort of hitter with a pulse there, they would have lost the DH right?

Yes, but the point was platoon matchups since they had 3 LHH in a row (yes Barnhart is technically a switch hitter but is awful hitting RH).  Today's bench is Gomes, Torrens, Madrigal, and Mastro.
