I may cheer for the Rockies because my son's tee ball team was just announced and it's Rockies and I'm a coach. Plus I have a Rockies blanket from 2017/18 when my wife and I went to an Denver April game and she did not dress warm enough and bought a $80 Rockies blanket.

Go Cubs/Rockies!

I find it kind of weird they even do the local teams. Feels like the rule should be no AL or NL Central teams. Then choose from rest.

Teams this year are Rockies, Giants, Dodgers, Cubs, White Sox, Cardinals, Braves, Blue Jay's, As, Royals, Yankees, Red Sox, Orioles, Pirates, Mets, Rays

I could have handled any except Cardinals. May have had to resign my post lol

Trying to remember the teams I was growing up. Definitely Yankees, Marlins, Braves, and Mariners. Can't remember any of the rest except it was definitely never Cubs. Probably missing one or two, then by middle school I think it was the town name and not mlb teams, just like Red, Blue, Black with the town name I think.

Actually Braves may have been Indians. Or possibly both at different years.

A buddy of mine has been an assistant coach for his son's team the past few years. They initially put him on the Cardinals, and my friend, a die-hard Cubs fan originally from Chicago, refused.

They moved his son to the White Sox instead.

Side note, I believe his son played on an All-Star team coached by James Triantos' dad.

When I was a kid, I always got the A's.  Like every single year, different leagues, different region of the country.  And then the one year I played in a league that didn't have league affiliations, I got put on the team with a dark green and yellow color scheme, so basically the A's again.

i wouldnt care that much to refuse, but having coached my kids the last couple of years, I prayed that I wouldn't have to wear a Cardinals had during the games.  I got Tigers last year and Rockies the year before.

Angel Stadium is within walking distance. I can put in a good word with Ohtani for you guys

The fact that Kyle is within walking distance of Angel Stadium explains the cloud of doom over that stadium the last few years...

I don't think walking is actually legal in the OC, is it?

I moved to my current neighborhood about 18 months ago specifically so I could ditch my car and go full walking lifestyle. It's going better than i expected tbh.

I interviewed in Santa Ana back in the day - the company folks were flabbergasted that I had walked from the hotel.

Yeah you have to pick your spots carefully.  I narrowed it down to about 3 neighborhoods in all of north oc that fit what I wanted.

Old neighborhood was a five minute drive just to get out of suburban residential purgatory

Am I the only one that played for like Bob’s Hardware and the F.O.P. or some bike store when I was a kid? I always hated the kids who got to play for real team names

My league had team sponsors. My team was sponsored by a funeral home one year.

We had 3 levels in our small town, and they were Peanuts, Peewees, and Midgets. I'm not sure which was the youngest, middle, or oldest. The 70s-80s were horsefeathering weird.

That was always the sponsor on the back of the uniforms - where a last name would have gone otherwise). But we got real team names on the front.

A local doctor sponsored my LL team, we were called "Doc's Dudes" haha

I was on the Tigers and the Red Sox.

Actually won the Championship with the Red Sox in 1995. Didn’t get the pub that the Boston Red Sox got in 04. I guess little league in Iowa isn’t national news.

The next couple levels teams were names after businesses in town that helped pay for jerseys and equipment. I was on McDonald’s then the next level First National Bank. Also won the championship with McDonald’s and lost the title game with 1st National Bank.

I was the Cubs on the south side(was already a fan) for 3 years. Figured they wouldn’t allow that. Then Yankees and then they oddly switched to city names so I was Seattle and San Francisco which, huh?

I played for Tingleff Drugs and Bosch Trucking back in the day. Jerseys were your basic colored T-shirt.

I never played organized baseball, but this was my basketball experience. To this day I have not forgotten the companies Fafard and Carither's Real Estate because their names were on my basketball shirts in consecutive years.

The only one I remember was Palatine Oil Company. The jerseys were similar to the old school Astros jerseys but with only shades of orange and yellow IIRC.
