I wouldn't have brought assad out again. He had good movement but he seemed prone to leaving some out over the plate.

I mentioned this in a comment thread on a piece earlier this week. I just do not like Ross's bullpen management, man. And it's gonna be annoying if that's what stands in the way of this team being really good, rather than talent.

I guess I'm not even sure why it was Fulmer who came in for Assad, since you had guys you ostensibly trust in those spots who DIDN'T pitch Thursday? But I guess that's fine. It's the Assad of it all that Ross really flubbed.

I dunno, man. I don't know if he can get them over the hump.

As people said coming into the year the Cubs are gonna play a lot of low scoring games. You hope that defense and pitching is good enough to compensate for what is likely a bad offense. 
 

hopefully Mervis and Morel keep hitting and the Cubs can stay afloat long enough to trade for a bat at the deadline.

There’s just not really a single guy in the lineup that is a legitimately good hitter AND has good power. We have a few legitimately good hitters but they’re not particularly great power hitters. Swanson and Happ are solid but not middle of the order power solid. Then we have some power bats like Rios and Wisdom but they’re not particularly good hitters
