Well, them Cubs did something nobody has ever been able to do before; they made me look like a fool. I was confident they would lose, and they pulled the ol’ switcheroo. The Cubs now have the best record in all of Major League baseball.

This will be a tough one. Woodruff hasn’t allowed a baserunner all season, but you will be thrilled to know Steele just racked up 21 strikeouts against the Brewers in my MLB The Show ’21. Let's keep this party going.

This is where the series gets interesting. How will Steele do against a very good, veteran Brandon Woodruff?

I don't think he's pitching to Woodruff, but if the Brewers want to give Steele a free out I feel slightly better about the Cubs chances today.

Just by their yearly numbers, Woodruff was slightly better last year than Steele. But Steele was rapidly improving throughout the season. So depending on how much stock you put into that as being actual development versus some statistical noise, there's a defensible argument for preferring Steele.

That said, this feels a lot like yesterday's game. The weather conditions may tell the tale. If the weather is shitty and nobody's hitting longballs, we might be ever-so-slightly favored. Otherwise, you've gotta give the edge to the Brewers.

Yeah, I thought I implied that but maybe not. Steele has Woodruff-type upside, just not sure he's quite there yet.

Curious if the weather influences tomorrow's lineup.  I could see an argument that nothing is getting out so you want Madrigal, Hosmer, and Mastro in for contact.  I could also see the opposite and wanting Rios and Wisdom both in because they might be the two guys on the roster who could actually get it out tomorrow, and it's inevitably going to be a tight game.

Feels like at least until Seiya gets back we're gonna see one of Wisdom/Rios and one of Mastro/Madrigal

Looking forward to Seiya getting back and then whenever they decide to bring up Morel and Mervis.  For all we know, Mervis might not even be LaHair but we know Hosmer blows.

So i saw the post about "join the game thread" and i went to find a stream of the game, not realizing that it doesn't start for 30 min. I clicked on one of the more reliable streams and while waiting on baseball to start, they're showing what appears to be a basketball game between a bunch of sixth graders.
