Cubs win!  Cubs are undefeated during Brock's reign of terror, I mean, kind stewardship of NSBB

Three shutouts on opening day in the last 5 years is kinda crazy.

Infield defense was really good. That play Wisdom made in the first was probably the best one.  Catcher couldn't catch, which is kind of a problem, but he got some value out of his framing.

Stroman had some really good late, downward movement on his pitches.

Just bizarre commercial fillers on the MLB app.

Good start. I hate off days.

Tomorrow would've been washed out anyway.

Saturday is not going to be fun to play in or be in attendance.

Sucks this is just a 3 game homestand, since the weather Monday-Wednesday looks nice other than occasional rain.  Highs of 61, 69 and 68.  Oh well.

Couldn't watch the game but just saw some highlights.

Has Stroman always had those neck tattoos?  Are there more of them this year?  It also looked like he was wearing his little brother's pants.  But nice game from him.  Extra excited as he was a surprise final pick in my draft last night.  I was all ready to take a flyer on some Oriole rookie when I noticed he was still there.  Nice to see some of the new guys getting some nocks.

Weird thing that probably means nothing but made me raise an eyebrow: Gomes' GIDP today at 109.6 MPH was the second hardest hit ball he's had in the Statcast era.  And not by a smidge, he's only had 4 batted balls at 108 or harder.  And all of those were 4-5 years ago.

I know some of the Dodgers guys did weighted bat training this winter to try and juice their exit velos...wonder if Yan did something similar.
