Trout has 6,174 career PAs. Has three swinging strikes in 24 of them.

 

Only modification is that they should move this to the all star break every four years, even if you have to slightly shorten the season. Do it now while the momentum is there and everyone wants to be involved in this.

I wonder if we will start to see more pitchers adopt splitters in the MLB. It's been a pitch that organizations have largely 86'd because of the injury risk but it is so effective. It basically turned Gausman into an ace. USA hitters turned to jelly against it last night. The Pitchers are already implored to throw the hardest sliders they can. Why not?

I think the other part of it is the balls in play downside, imperfect splitters become home runs more often than other pitches. Moreso with the launch angle/low ball hunters we've seen in recent years.
