Can only hope everyone skips it so companies won't bribe the NFL to try it again.

People in rural areas like me don't get quality streaming from our internet. Rural covers a very big area of this country. There are issues with buffering, frozen screens and limited data on internet plans. There will be a large percentage of skippage by consumers. And how many actual Peacock users are there? People aren't going to buy Peacock just for a playoff game. It's like NFL is purposely  trying to figure out which bad idea sends people over the edge and give up on their product permanently.

I have peacock to watch poker face, but have never paid for it. I imagine you can get it for free. If your team is playing in that game you’ll download the app. If not, you’re probably skipping. The NFL doesn’t have a problem growing audience, so they are taking advantage by monetizing everything.

I think the NFL's dream scenario is that the Super Bowl is a pay per view event, and this may be a test to see if people will pay extra for a first round game

I downloaded the app a couple weeks ago to watch something (Cubs game maybe?) and there was no option for a free trial, so I'm not sure that will work.  Regardless, it's absolutely stupid.

So now you have to have Amazon for Thursday night games, basic cable for sundays and peacock for the playoffs. Add that to Marquee and Apple + for the Cubs and should I get a 2nd job? Absolutely ridiculous.

Thursday night games all suck and you don't need to watch them.

It's one playoff game that your team probably wouldn't be in so I cannot imagine the need to get peacock.

I had a free version at one time, also. Now I think I pay $4.99 a month or something and the only thing we've watched was the first 3 or 4 episodes of Poker Face. If they would have stayed with the gambling theme from the first episode, I feel like it might have had a chance to go somewhere. After a couple more episodes, they lost both the wife and me. Maybe you haven't had it long enough to get to the pay wall. That, or your just special.

I thought I read that the game would air simultaneously on NBC and on Peacock. If that's the case, then maybe it's just so they can reach people who only stream?

It will air on nbc stations in the home market of teams involved. Peacock only everywhere else.

NBC is producing 2 other playoff games that weekend, and like everything NBC does, they will also stream on Peacock. That's probably what you saw. But one game is exclusive to Peacock.

Is Peacock still free for comcast subscribers? Half of the Chicago area still uses comcast.

If that isn't gone yet, I believe it's getting phased out.

Still free for me...it ends June 26th which is stupid.  Not going to spend money to get 2 Cubs games a year, an NFL playoff game and a couple ND games, or if I do it will be starting and stopping

Apparently the Cardinals are planning to start the season with a 5’9” QB and three WR’s who are 5’9” or shorter.
