If all you ever had to do to beat Ohio State was toss up long bombs to wide open receivers, it seems like a statement about the B1G that it took 12 games to do it

What does it say about Notre Dame?

It's not news that they have no QB or WRs largely because their former coach basically stopped trying to recruit them the last 5 years. They were (and still are) not equipped to throw it deep.

ah, so you knew the answer? I guess running for 250 yards might also be a factor.

Yes, I knew that an 8-3 team with no QB that lost to Marshall was not the team equipped to beat Ohio State. It's almost like one can have an opinion about a sport independent of how the team they support is doing and a smart ass retort about it is unnecessary.

You made a snarky comment and I asked a legitimate question. Now you come back and pretend like you don't understand football enough that you legitimately believed all anyone had to do was chuck the ball up for grabs to beat ohio state. Give me a break - if you want to be snarky, don't then act like you had a legitimate point.

Fairly certain Illini will take care of business vs. Northwestern do not know about Purdue. Purdue is more than capable of losing to Indiana, I'm torn. On one hand it would be great if the Illini end up winning the West on the other hand, don't really want to watch them lose to Michigan again. I'm certain the Illini will manage to hang in and then get fucked over with some BS officiating. Better they go to a decent bowl while Purdue loses by 30+ to Michigan.

I posted the original thing before Michigan started running it down OSU's throat, but whatever

Are Michigan fans still wanting Harbaugh fired?

Feel free to go back through my past comments I’m *mostly* clean. I had a reactionary moment after the MSU loss year but quickly recovered. Defended his tenure before and after that moment

I was talking more in general than anyone here

i think i always properly realized that a bird in the hand is worth two Brady Hokes in the bush- so to speak, that i have no painfully regrettable takes on this topic

I know I just like to point out that irrationally negative UMFan managed to stay rational with Harbaugh

That was exactly my take. We live through Rich Rod and Hoke. We knew it could be a lot worse. As it was Harbaugh had gotten Michigan within an inch of the CFP in 2016 and a zone defense away from making the CFP in 2018 (ok maybe a bit of a stretch but they were a win away). Rich Rod and Hoke never came close. Figured if we gave him enough time eventually he’d break through.

These are the lessons that OSU fans refuse to learn. All the idiots are calling for Ryan Day's head (with no thought to who they could get who would be better)

They would probably end up with Luke Fickell

Saw a bunch of dumb horsefeathers on the twitter about Mike Vrabel. What a pampered fan base.

Fun story, had Iowa managed to score 28 points a game this season (i.e. just be average), they would have been 11-1. Though I believe the OSU game would have been ultra competitive had we had an offense that was capable of moving the ball at least a little. Our AD, HC, and bulk of the fan base seem to believe it’s more about developing young men than it is winning football games. Sorry, but I don’t watch games to see how well guys take losses. Fire every Ferentz.

Illinois had 8 wins for the first time in 20 years. That's great!

Illinois lost 3 games where they outplayed their opponent and had a greater than 50% win expectancy, losing the B1G West in the process. That's bad. Lots of unfortunate turnovers and failed drives petering out in the red zone. Had Michigan beat and turtled and the defense ran out of gas.

Improvement to be made for next season.

Utah needed several things to happen to make the Pac-12 title game:

- Beat Colorado (check)

- Oregon St. beat Oregon (check)

- Washington beat Washington St. (TBD)

Purdue is terrible but whatever. When the entire division is junk you wind with a mediocre team celebrating their turn to go get slaughtered by the other division that has all the actual football programs of note.

As for the Badgers. Word is we’re hiring Jim Leonhard, even though he’s a holdover from the Chryst failure, even though he’s just lost the biggest game - the one game - anyone cared about him winning this year, and even though he’s never been anywhere other than Wisconsin as a coach. Why the horsefeathers even fire Chryst if you’re just going to stick with his program anyway?

I mean what the horsefeathers are they even thinking?

Rant off.

Illinois' 4 losses were by a combined 20 points. The last year prior to this one where they did not have a loss by 20+ points was 2008.

Leonhard is way more than just a Chryst holdover. He's a 40 year old alum with 10 years or relatively recent NFL experience. His defenses have largely been very good to excellent. Beyond all of this we were in the same freshman history section.

Word is that Aranda was the other coach seriously considered.

I’m sure he’s a great guy. This team needs an offense.

I hope TCU and USC lose. Let's get 3 SEC teams in the playoff.

TCU might still get in over Bama in that scenario. Plus I wouldn’t be surprised if Ohio St still gets in over LSU leaving the SEC with only one team. In 2016, 11-2 Penn State beat an 11-1 Ohio State and won the Big 10 but got left out in favor of Ohio State. OSU had a win at Oklahoma that year and the loss was by 3 points. Meanwhile Penn St lost to an 8-4 Pitt team and was boat raced by 39 against Michigan, which is similar to LSU losing to Florida St and Tennessee this year.

I think TCU would have to lose big for LSU to have a chance.

Of course it won’t matter if LSU doesn’t turn it around tonight.
