I always do that. I like to read everything being said prior to and during the game after the fact. I would have been there with everyone else with the comments on how horrible they looked in the first half. I'm digging this new coaching staff quite a bit. I hate tacky unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, but I certainly give the punter a pass for his. Glad to see clean football being taught in the locker room.

Trying to explain that unsportsmanlike penalty to my wife was fun.

"No, no, it's only okay if the Patriots do it."

https://fanbuzz.com/nfl/snow-plow-game/

"Henderson, a convicted burglar on work release from a nearby prison, said Meyer motioned for him to clear the snow for his kicker. The Patriots coach originally said quarterback Steve Grogan was the one who told Henderson to commit the act. He later apologized."

LOL, a movie script writer would be told to tone down the hyperbole a bit.

Damn...highest graded rookie, not just on the Bears but the entire league. I have to be honest, he's maybe the draft pick I've thought about the least for whatever reason.

We got a few to really break our way, although the one bizarre, never-before-in-my-watching-of-the-NFL penalty hit the Bears and cost us 3 points.

I'm not sure it did... did you see Santos' two XP attempts?

Yeah fair point, the 47 yard try is far from guaranteed

Conspiracy theory: Big brain moment. Eberflus told Gill to clear it with a towel because he wanted the 15 yard penalty for a better pinned punt attempt and knew the FG was to long in the conditions. Provides cover for the kicker and his confidence and deterring questions about the decision not to kick.

You serious, Clark?

lol that's certainly an interesting theory. While I don't really believe that was what happened, the way he threw the towel right in front of the ref basically and kind of stared at him for an extra second would support this. But we've seen kickers drill 47 yard FGs in blinding snowstorms and I think an NFL kicker should be expected to have a reasonable chance of hitting that kick, or at least reasonable enough to attempt the kick when you are struggling to move the ball and put points up.

Santos took the blame for the towel penalty. He said he wasn't trying to dry the field, he was trying to flatten the grass there a bit (like they normally would) but he didn't want his shoe to get soaked in a puddle of water while doing it. I think I heard on a podcast earlier that he also did it with a towel last year in Seattle in that snow game, but I guess since it didn't seem like they were trying to dry the field then, it wasn't penalized.

I did think it was weird they just thought they could throw the huge towel to the side in the field of play and think it would be something the refs would be ok with.

The two missed cp were at the same end zone, right? Was there something about that end zone that made it worse then the other?

I don't know on the second one, but I know on the first one I saw his plant leg slip a fraction on the replay.

Watching the replay I was expecting to see them kind of sneaky pull out a towel or something. But that wasn't it at all. It was as if they were trying to make it as obvious as possible.

I was thinking that someone misread a rule and really thought it would be OK. I do love a conspiracy theory though.

Think he was psyched out by the field too. He just physically looked like he didn't want to be out there.

I hope my conspiracy theory was an obvious joke. But based on the XP issues, 47 also clearly wasn't in his range yesterday. That's always something that always has to be updated on GameDay, especially in crazy weather.

Jenkins was graded 8th amongst guards yesterday. Not sure how snap count affects the grade at all since he was splitting snaps with Patrick

And graded fairly evenly between run and pass block. Consistency, folks!

After the first missed one (2nd TD iirc), I'm still a tad shocked they didn't go for two after the third TD

Meh, unless the conditions really deteriorated, we saw Gould kick and XP and 25 yard FG and Santos also hit his first XP. I know there was the pregame slip by one of the kickers practicing kicks and of course the previous missed XP, but we'd already seen 3 kicks made so kicking an XP doesn't seem like an impossible task. Think he just overcompensated for going wide right on his previous attempt.

I plugged it into the Ben Baldwin decision bot and it only likes the 2 pt very very slightly (by a +0.2 wp).

Damn, I was always hoping he would turn into something as I thought he was a steal in the 6th round. Obviously didn’t show it enough behind the scenes

The Eberflus administration seems to have a fetish for tall cornerbacks. I can't see any other reason to prioritize Lamar Jackson over Thomas Graham.

He missed just about all of training cam and preseason. I think the team liked him and was waiting for him to get 100% healthy But overall, I think when in doubt thus regime has picked to keep their guy over a Pace guy.

Would have had to cut one of the guys they added for the 53 over Graham. Kept Pennel over Tonga. That Kingsley Jonathan dude over Sam Kamara, etc.

They have Lamar Jackson, Jaylon Jones and Josh Blackwell all on the 53 who had 0 defensive snaps yesterday. I think they're all older than Graham as well.

2.1 wp is what I got. Still, you knew the field wasn't in great condition especially for kickers (see the towel foul) so why not try a 2pt?

i mean in the end, it doesn't matter but I would have loved to see that o-line road grater the SF d-line into bleachers one last time for the day
