At some point we’re gonna have to charge the mound against the Brewers. 4 HBP already in this series continuing a trend from last year

They should retaliate by hitting the Brewers' best hitter.

Based on the first two games here, it looks like that is still Ryan Braun.

Post of the year, thus far.

I wonder what was the last time a shutout was pitched by the Cubs using nothing but homegrown pitchers. Zambrano?

Even more interesting...I wonder what was the last time an entire game of any outcome was pitched by the Cubs using nothing but homegrown pitchers.

You have to go all the way back to….September 1, 2021 against the Twins. Steele pitched 5 shutout innings and Alzolay pitched the remaining 4 to complete the shutout.

Sorry to kill the fun lol

We are good?

Not to be Kyle but it's obviously early. I am encouraged by the improvement in the approach as well as the ability to throw strikes thru 2.

It's not just the Cubs are off to a 2-0 start. It's against the Brewers, who it seems like we didn't win a game against last season

Hey, now, we won 4 whole games against them last year

It’s gettin chippy out there. Eff McCutchen

I'm by no means a "throw at the other team on purpose" guy. However, that culture still exists in MLB. The Brewers hit three Cubs in the game so they had to figure something might be coming. I know Thompson missed on the first pitch and that could be viewed as missing his shot so he shouldn't take a second one. But he also plunked Cutch in the hip. Not up in the head/neck area or upper back where it's close to the head. McCutchen doesn't have to be happy about it but just take your base at that point. Benches clearing over that was dumb.
