OL was pretty decent yesterday. Tackles in particular, I thought played well (especially Ifedi). Mustipher is ass cheeks, but at C, that shouldn't kill the offense.

Whoever is the QB, all I ask for is execution in the red zone. The Bears have had mistakes (penalties, drops, bad play calls) take them out of several points thru 2 games already...Dalton and Fields very much included. They are doing a half decent job moving it between the 30s then have to punt around midfield or have a TO on downs. If Fields is the QB, use his legs, get in the endzone. 17PPG (13.5 on offense) is NOT enough to win this game or many NFL games. They gotta start scoring, I don't care who is the QB.

Come on, OL. Learn to block before Sunday.

Huh?

You think the OL was good yesterday? I think the Browns D is going to pose a much bigger challenge than the Bengals.

The Browns are better, but they did... Fine?

I would like to see some line improvements next year, but there was a lot of doom and gloom about the line which clearly hasn't materialized through 2 games.

Well, part of that is that they don't do a lot of deep drops because they don't have confidence the line can hold the protection. Montgomery has put in a heroic effort because there are times the blocks really aren't there and he finds some space. They aren't like, 2004 bad, but they're not good and I do think it would be wise to get Fields moving a bit more to get him comfortable.

This is an interesting situation regarding QB because I expect Dalton is out this week but he wont be injured for too long. So it really is an opportunity for Fields to take the job and never give it back, but I'm not so sure that'll happen. But it'll be real interesting to see him with the keys to the car for a week (or maybe more).

Browns might be banged up a bit. Perhaps no OBJ, and it looks like Mayfield might not be 100%

Maybe the Bears pull of the upset and Fields goes 18/25 for 250 and 2 TDs, the Bears shutdown Chubb and win 24-17

As much as I want Fields to Wally Pip Dalton and Foles in football oblivion, why is Fields more ready to play when Foles is the backup than when Dalton is the backup?

Huh?

I think the point he is trying to make is that Nagy has said, "Fields will start when he's ready and we will all know when that is". He wasn't ready last week with Dalton as an option, so why is he ready this week when Foles is the only other option? The only thing that makes sense is they think Dalton is better than Fields, but Fields is better than Foles.

I mean, we know they don't want to waste anymore time on Foles, which is understandable. But a lot of us have questioned why they thought it was OK wasting time on Dalton.

Man I missed a lot. Left on Saturday (spoilers for mojo)

for my cruise

and just now getting caught up with everything. I was aware Fields played on Sunday but wasn't sure about his performance outside of looking at the numbers until I saw highlights today. Kid made some mistakes obviously but I don't see any mistakes that can't be cleaned up quickly. But the throws he made that were dropped and the evasiveness on his runs were all I needed to see to come away optimistic.

Truth is, all the rookie QBs have looked like various degrees of ass (besides Lance who has barely played). It's a learning curve, but I'm confident that he has the physical and mental skills needed to be a stud. Can't wait to see him improve as the season goes on, assuming he can prevent Nagy from making Andy the starter again when healthy.

I don’t think this question comes from an honest viewpoint. Fields is the backup and the starter is injured. The only reason Foles is on the roster is because of cap ramifications of cutting him. People wanted Fields to start and he’s starting game 3 of his career. We should be happy about this. At least I am.

Yeah. That's what I was trying to say. What does Dalton's health have to do with Fields' readiness, if readiness is really what determines when Fields will be starting?

Not that I have any desire whatsoever to see any more of Foles.

"The QB will let us know when he is ready" is coach speak. This is disingenuous nitpicking. He's the backup to the starter who is out.
