RE: the force and tag out at 3B yesterday that was not challenged. I know the Cubs were out of challenges, but couldn't the umpires have decided to look at that play? I feel like it was close enough that the 3B ump couldn't have felt certain in his call. Amazing how poorly that game was umped.

 

 

Also fun stat, Javy's HR last night was just the 4th HR given up by Reyes in his career spanning 97.2 innings. Pretty sweet.

Yeah, I think the sample size is big enough that it's fair to say he will outperform his peripherals. But his peripherals have historically painted the picture of a slightly worse than average starter. Right now, even in May, they paint the picture of a guy who shouldn't be in the league.
