Joke Peterson. Can that be his new nickname? Do we need a vote?

We'll always have Spring Training 2021

It appears he used up all his hits there.

Davies is not good.

sorry you lack the galaxy brain that gives you the capability to understand that it's actually GOOD when your pitchers throw 86 and can't strike anybody out.

How bad of a pitcher would you have to be to get lit up by the Cubs offense right now?

We know that virtually anyone in the major leagues can shut them down. How about a middling AA pitcher? Maybe rookie ball? 3rd starter on a middle of the road northern state high school team?

I'll say, from purely watching, I'm not worried about Willson or Happ at all. Process is good for those two, the results will definitely come.

Wish I could say the same about most of the rest of the lineup.

I've covered prep sports here for 9 years and don't think I've ever seen a guy that can get it into the 90s. Then again, the Cubs could just end up being bamboozled by the lack of velocity.

The MLB record for men left on base in a 9 inning game is 16.

Cubs have 15 through 5.

I'm 99% sure those are two different stats.

My bad that's the record in a shutout.

18 is the NL record I think. 20 is the MLB record?

Still doesnt sound right. LOB stats are sometimes calculated by the number of runners on base for each hitter. So like if the Cubs load the bases with 0 outs and then strike out 3 times, thats 9 LOB. But I believe the record you are referring to is LOB to end an inning. So in the previous scenario the LOB number is 3 instead of 9 because 3 men were on base when the inning ended. The maximum LOB in a 9 inning game would be 27.

Maples' command has clearly improved, but not by nearly enough for him to be an impact guy. Like I'm not gonna call for him to get cut, but at the same time if we get to a point where we need that roster spot he needs to go. No bending over backwards to hold onto him like we did with Underwood last year.
