It’s one game but man. Just blow it up, this is the same horsefeathers over and over, maybe they’re good and can fake it to a high 80s win season and playoffs but give us something different to follow and cheer for even if it’s not the right choice and makes it a worse team for awhile.

we've been saying this for like 3 years. I'll never understand how they just let the team rot for multiple seasons. blow it up, go for it, or change things up by trading some guys for other major league guys. they've just done nothing for so long.

I think you might get your wish this trade deadline. In order for the Cubs to make any kind of run, the core all needs a bounce back season and 2-5 starters all need to make a leap. A lot to ask.

I know we are off tomorrow but why is Ross using the entire bullpen?

He’s manages to not only use almost the entire pen but also had 2-3 guys throw 30-40 pitches out of the pen too. Lol

There is no possible way the Ricketts can get any more advertising behind home plate.

Tom Ricketts: "lol - hold my sherry"

cub hitters with 2 hits and 13 strikeouts. cub pitchers issue 11 walks.

maybe NEXT year will be the year all these problems that have plagued the cubs over the last few seasons will magically fix themselves without any actual action being taken to solve them.

But swapping a new left fielder for a nearly identical left fielder should have fixed everything!

I caught the last three innings on the radio. The radio broadcast is completely unlistenable anymore. Every single thing is sponsored by someone, and the sponsorship text Pat has to read is always overly long. I feel like 80% of Pat's broadcast is reading ad copy. It's the worst

I didn't listen today, but I have honestly never noticed the ad reads being anything excessive.

All the ads packed in behind home plate at Wrigley is much more offensive to me. I guess we're beyond the point of ads needing to be tasteful and now are just going to cram them in wherever there is open space.

if you haven’t noticed ad reads on a radio broadcast you haven’t listened to a radio broadcast.

It was literally everything. Ad read for the cleanup hitter, for strikeouts, for doubles, there are now 2 or 3 different sponsored "player of the game" reads in the 9th. It was insane

I'm with Derwood here. I love Pat and Ron, but there is a lot of ad reading going on in these games, even compared to just a handful of years ago.

Is it tied to the Ricketts buying the team? I don't listen to the radio often, but the ad reads have easily tripled in the last few seasons

Duane Underwood striking out the side in a perfect inning just kinda does it for me

Just gotta give Dillon Maples his 20th chance when you get the opportunity

That I couldn't guess at. There were a fair number of them in 2016 (the World Series blu-ray set edited out most of them in the Pat/Ron audio overlay feeds that were included), but not nearly to what I've noticed them being now.

I guess I've always noticed the ads, but they have never bothered me. But now I'll be paying attention to them and it will drive me crazy. Thanks a lot NSBB!
