Ok, so, they've traded for Watson, how about letting Robinson walk and signing Allen Lazard? Lazard' an Allen Robinson' type with a much smaller price tag, could form a decent WR duo with Mooney.

As you have probably said and I'm saying we all know nothing good is going to come of this Bears being big players in the QB market. Guessing another iteration of GM and HC will be the most probable outcome.

Did not know that, thank you, so, scratch Lazard, cannot see why Packers wouldn't offer league minimum. I'm certain Robinson' gone, I'd be looking for someone young, cheap who could approximate Robinson plus the draft.

Carson Wentz trade picking up some steam. Not necessarily with the Bears, but supposedly the Eagles have gotten some "strong offers". The Bears are obviously one of the teams to watch with Wentz because of the coaching staff's familiarity with him (DeFilippo) and his familiarity with the offense. Colts obviously another.

 

I have liked Wentz as a potential option, because he has played at an MVP level in the recent past, he's still young, and because I thought his price would be a lot cheaper than the other non-Watson options. I was thinking he could be had for Foles + a 3rd + a conditional 2022 pick (anywhere between 2nd and 4th round). But if they've gotten multiple offers, I speculate that a 1st round pick could be in play.....and I don't like him for that much with the risk there that he could continue to be bad.

Yeah, if you're going to overpay (outside of Watson or Prescott), I'd rather trade up for one of the top 4 QBs in the draft.

i understand what you were trying to do here and why you were trying to do it, but if goff is a "superbowl qb" then the term carries no weight. we don't need to call every guy who has played in a superbowl a superbowl QB. or we can, but then the term is meaningless/useless. either way is ok.

 

that sentence just characterizes them in a way that misleads about the fact that stafford is a clear upgrade over west coast mitch.
