I'm not a jeopardy superfan or anything, but I've checked out Rodgers a few times and have been surprised at how natural and comfortable he seems. I guess if you are a biased bears fan you might hate it.

Did you ever think maybe being a biased Packers fan could play into your opinion?

I've only seen the clips on twitter so I dont have the full picture. but he seemed ok but a bit awkward

the clips i happened to see seemed fine and kind of funny

the bias is more likely in bears fans hating on it

even though rodgers is absolutely a dick (based on how he treats his family)

do we know that his family aren't the dicks? i've never read anything about it other than how they hate each other.

This might be baseless but if it’s not holy horsefeathering horsefeathers are the Bears poorly run. Either you keep the GM and let them run the show or you fire them. You don’t keep them and then handcuff them from making moves.

If they won’t allow them to trade away the 2023 1st round pick to draft Mac Jones that ain’t handcuffing, that’s just proper oversight.

On the other hand if you needed an indication you made the wrong call...

Anyways the article sounds highly speculative. I wouldn't put too much stock in it.

Bears ownership has sucked the entire time the McCaskeys have owned them. This isn't news

The McCaskeys have literally always owned the Bears.

Exactly

This has kind of been hinted at a few times this offseason. They were cool with going all in for Wilson, but not so much for an unproven rookie. It makes sense on paper, but the principle of it all is terrible.

That being said, Ben Allbright, who seems to be pretty connected says that he thinks Fields may still be on the board into the teens. If the Bears don't feel comfortable trading to 6 or 8, and he could be on the board at 13 or so, I could see the Bears jumping in front of NE to grab Fields and it wouldn't cost too much. That being said, that totally requires the football Gods smiling down on the Bears for the first time literally ever so....

I don’t think you’ve made the point you think you made.

The point that Bears ownership has always sucked?

I'm amazed at how Fields has fallen from clear #2 pick at the start of the college football season to fourth or fifth QB on the board. Wilson seems awesome, but he did it for one season against weak competition. Jones seems to have a limited ceiling compared to the other four in his athleticism, and also did it for one season with an NFL roster around him. Lance hasn't played since 2019 and started for one season, too.

Fields has had some awful games, but he also balled out against Clemson after taking that big hit. If he fells to 13 somehow I would expect Pace to go up and get him. And I'd be hapy about it. Not sure what it would take to get there, maybe a 2nd and next years first?

What is the biggest reservation people have with Fields? I've read something about how he went to his first option like 85% of the time last season or something so there were questions about his ability to go through progressions in the NFL when the defenses are faster and the first option isn't always open like at OSU, but that's about it. Athleticism, arm strength, accruacy all see 90+ percentile. There is discussion about social biases in place and its a fair discussion but anything else from a pure football standpoint that is giving these teams pause?

so stoked to draft the 7th best quarterback, have him get pumped up in camp, have the entire fan base beg for him to play for 10 weeks, and then declare him a bust after 3 snaps.
